OK, so Mr Steve may have enjoyed one more glass of wine than he should have the night before and woke up thinking "I'm hungry, but not up to cooking something"
So I went on the Grubhub (as was the tradition at the time) and stumbled across this gem! Looking at the pictures, I was like "DAMN that looks good" and on further inspection discovering "AND it's secretly vegan?" even my hungover booty said 'This looks way too good to be true' hopped in the car and headed over.
FRIENDS I CAN HAPPILY TELL YOU THE CHUBBY BUNNY IS REAL (and quite legit!)
The Chubby Bunny cart's way in the back of it's little food pod and it's worth making your back there! I got the OG Chubby Bunny that comes with vegan bacon AND vegan sausage (thank god because I was definitely not feeling up to choosing between the two) and paired that bad bunny with a potato mitten which is incidentally what I'll be calling hash browns from now on.
Patiently waited (not too long!) got my baggie, ran to the car and commenced to dig in
The Chubby Bunny? AWWW YEAHHHH I've called at least 3 of my friends this morning to tell them the GOOD NEWS of the chubby bunny and the big standouts of this sando are
Vegan cheese that isn't trying to taste bougie? There for it! The cheese on the sando def harkens to the classic american melting 'cheese food' I grew up on and it totally works! Honestly if I didn't know it was vegan, I would never have guessed!
The 'egg'? Again! I wouldn't have guessed this one either (and it also! Super good!!)
All the toppings? The vegan sausage patty was one of the best vegan sausage patties I've had. The bacon does taste way more like 'vegan pepperoni' and I'm not only not mad at it, I'm curious now to try vegan pepperoni on my sandos in the future!
Potato mitten? Hot and crispy! Are potato mittens the healthiest thing on the planet? Who cares! Treat y'self, you won't be mad!
Lastly the people there were super nice, the hot sauce they have is spicy, and they were kind enough to be open on a very chilly morning and willing to feed my slightly bootsy self (and again, thank you...
Read moreOverpriced food made with spineless ethics. Owner has made it very loud and clear that ethics have no place in his business. When presented by multiple vegan business owners in town that he’s using a product tied to obvious “discourse”, he drew a hard line in the sand by deciding to keep it on the menu. When advertising a special with the YoEgg on Instagram, it was made very apparently that Chubby Bunny’s core customer base is smart about where their food comes from - as vegans often are - and draw direct association of using this product to support for everything a vegan should stand against. Repeated valid criticism of this decision was selectively removed by CB’s social media, silencing any discourse about the ethics of using this product. When given the option to address the concerns of the customers, Tyler doubled down on his stance, effectively saying loud and clear that his support of Isntreal means more to him than the beliefs of his customers. Seeing as this egg sandwich cannot possibly be generating great profits for CB, it’s clear this decision is purely ideological - an ideology I cannot support. If I could take back every dollar I ever spent here, walk back every glowing recommendation I gave, I would in a heartbeat. I’d rather go hungry than spend my hard earned money on an overpriced sandwich from a business with zero morality. This business is the defenition of Veganism for clout - picking and choosing your ethics. You cannot claim to be a “voice for the voiceless” when it comes to animals, and turn the other cheek when it comes to human beings. But I mean, what else do we expect from the great business mind of the failed...

The bun was fresh and gluten-free, yet soft and satisfying — a testament to their commitment to quality and dietary inclusivity.
