Clinton Street Pub — Restaurant in Portland

Our waitress was literally the worst waitress I have ever had my life!! And I have been Bartending for 30 years I know what I'm talking about she came to our table to give us menus and then to give us our check everything else we had to go to the bar. I would not have minded going up to the bar but this place does have table service and due to the fact that we did have a waitress I should not have to be serving myself. she had plenty of time to help the young guys there though. there were three of us we each got a drink. We had to go up to the bar to order I asked for my check at the bar after doing that it took an additional 45 minutes to get the check when she brought it she just tossed it on the table and walked away never coming back. I had my daughter with me that is 30 and my son that is 22 this is their age group of crowd why could she not help them I get that I'm not young and cool but they are it would take way too long to explain my terrible experience fortunately we have plenty of great bars in the neighborhood I can just walk to I don't need to...

I found their take on the divebar attitude to have hostile undertones, that it was almost pretentious/aggressive in its attempts at being anti-establishment, def lacking in the pdx quirky charm of other indie bars. Also, their music was too loud to speak comfortably: bass, bass, bass. (Read: We are the angry children of the 80s.) Because of all of this, I am guessing that the people who live or work in the building do not think they are very courteous next door neighbors, especially compared to the other businesses in the building. Been coming to this bar for sometime and it’s a great spot. The regulars are solid as they come, every single bartender are wonderful to the guests and an absolute delight to sit with. However the bar manager, whose name is AL, has consistently been aggressive and cold and unwelcoming to everyone I have witnessed him interact with while he is behind the bar. I know for a fact his inappropriate behavior is not an isolated incident, I see him tending bar and I choose to go somewhere else every time and so do other patrons.
