As a business owner I strive on customer service. You would think that shift leaders and managers of a big name company (dairy queen) would push for Thier employees to do the same. I understand that most of these employees was 16-17 years old but Thier customer service was poor. I wasn't expecting a logans steakhouse experience, I just would have like to see better work ethic, some interaction between employee and customer would be good. Just a simple thank you would be great as well..... Instead all I got was "can I help you" while I was looking at menu. Then said absolutely nothing to me when they brung food. Then after I finished my food I ordered a small cone. Waited for that for over 10 min.. I was the only customer there.. No one in drive, no one in lobby. The employees was standing around and had Thier little girl friends that was not employees setting in there. They locked the doors and after I left the 2 girls that wasn't employees stayed inside hanging out with employees that are on the clock.. Other employees just standing around... This is not how you teach a 16 yr old work ethic. This is Thier stomping ground for a career.. I don't care what you do for a living, it takes work ethic to be successful..... As a business owner I don't let Thier friends hang out, and I teach and educate them to prepare for them for a career and it helps my business in return... This is sad because now days hard work is unheard of, and these are the employees that will be taking over for us older folk... I fear for this nations future.. It pays to work hard and do good work. This type work ethic is why employees don't make a good living but cry around wanting $15 hr. A lot of skilled trade workers that work hard everyday don't make $15 an hr but they are the workers that make a difference.. All I can say is just push your employees to do better.. It will pay off and pay better...
Read moreDo not come to the Portland, TN location they are gyping customers. The royals are supposed to be chunky ice creams with chewy pieces and a syrupy middle. They do not make the royals like Dairy Queen is supposed to make them here, they use mostly vanilla ice cream and whip it SMOOTH with NO CHUNKS in order to make you think you got a royal.
I brought it back and had them do it again, they made it the same way so this is just how they have them making it. It is NOT supposed to just be cheesecake flavored ice cream milkshake with a couple strawberries, which is what they hand you out the window.
It is supposed to be chunky and syrupy and all they do is whip vanilla ice cream with a spoon of flavor blended through the ice cream. It is supposed to have chunky bites.
NINE DOLLARS. Franklin, KY makes it right go there. Gallatin was fine before too. I drive out of my way to not go here in Portland. No chances for this location, will never set foot here again. Extreme...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst, Dairy Queen I've ever been to! No star rating at all for service!!!! Took my mother-in-law for a snack and ice cream inside. Girl at the counter had about as much gumption as a sloth! As we were trying to order, she was taping her fingers on the register like we were a nuisance. She kept ignoring what we were trying to order because a police officer pulled someone over in their parking lot. After we finally got the order in, a 2 for $5, (2 chicken stripes and fry), that took almost 20 minutes to receive, and I had to go up to the counter to request it!!! The other order, a burger and fry, were sitting on the window under a heat lamp the whole time... fry was cold, so I had them remake the fry......
