I wish there were an option to leave zero stars. My experience at this restaurant on Valentine’s Day 2025 was the worst I’ve ever had.
I called ahead to place a to-go order and was told it would be ready in 25-30 minutes. I arrived after 30 minutes, only to wait an additional 40 minutes. The front staff, particularly Jenny, who seemed to be the owner, continued taking phone orders and seating customers while avoiding eye contact with the growing crowd of frustrated to-go customers. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed, unable to manage both a packed dining room and a high volume of takeout orders in any sort of organized manner.
The waiting area was chaotic, with no clear system in place to differentiate dine-in guests from takeout customers. Staff resorted to shouting, “Who’s here for dine-in?” to sort people out. This lack of organization led to confusion, frustration, and even arguments among customers who felt they were being skipped in line. At one point, Jenny was still taking orders for orange chicken while the wait staff informed her they had run out.
To make matters worse, after finally receiving my order and driving 30 minutes out of my 35 minute drive home, I got a call from Jenny informing me that she had forgotten to include half of my meal, my entrees. This was despite her checking the bag and confirming everything was there. I was left with nothing but salad and sushi after waiting over an hour. The only positive aspect of this experience was that she offered a refund.
This restaurant might be acceptable on a slow night, but they are completely incapable of handling a dinner rush or holiday crowd. They overbook tables, take on more orders than they can handle, and prioritize maximizing profits over providing good service. Save your money and dine elsewhere—Portland or Gallatin 20 minutes away has plenty of...
Read moreWalking into this sushi restaurant feels like stepping into a hidden treasure of flavors. Every single piece of sushi is like a work of art, carefully crafted with absolute perfection. The rice is warm and fluffy, yet firm enough to hold its shape, while the fish is so fresh that it seems to melt on your tongue. The balance between texture and taste is simply magical—soft, silky, and bursting with natural flavor. The presentation alone deserves praise; each plate looks like a painting, arranged with vibrant colors that make you almost hesitate to take the first bite because it looks too beautiful. The atmosphere of the restaurant makes the dining experience even more special: the clean, elegant design and the calming background music create the perfect setting to enjoy such extraordinary food. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, and you can taste the passion and dedication in every bite. This is not just a meal; it is an unforgettable experience that leaves you wishing you could eat here every single day. Truly, this is the kind of sushi that spoils you for life, because nothing else will...
Read moreThis restaurant needs to seriously reevaluate its offerings since opening. It’s disappointing because I had high hopes for it, expecting a standout experience, but it has fallen short. I want to clearly outline the issues:
First and foremost, the food is subpar. There’s nothing unique or exceptional about it compared to the countless other restaurants in Portland. If I want quality Japanese cuisine, I’ll choose a bento spot. For Chinese takeout, Mr. Wok is a far better option. This menu resembles those of other establishments but lacks any distinguishing features.
The quality is unacceptable – the rice can be either mushy or hard, and the portions seem to be an attempt to mask the food’s shortcomings. Dousing everything in copious amounts of yum yum sauce does not remedy the fundamental issues with the dishes. It’s crucial that the management brings in someone knowledgeable about food to address these problems and improve the...
