E-Side Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Portland

Been here before with zero issues. Today was not one of those days.

She wasn’t feeling well. “You have to eat something” I said. Finally she decided on some Tom Kha Khai soup but with tofu since she doesn’t eat meat.

Soup shouldn’t take long. With very little energy, she and I drove to the Belmont food carts. She gave the order to the nicest girl. Asking if I was hungry or wanted anything, I declined.

What about a burger. I thought, “that should be quick. I really want to grab food and get her back to bed.”

The burger place is owned/run by the same people. It came out. We sat for another 40 min wondering where the soup was as she was getting more and more depleted.

Finally I went to E-San and asked about the soup. “For Rachael? They asked. No. That’s not her name.

Sat down again. She had no energy and her head is on the picnic table. The burger is cold. “Go ahead and eat,” she said. I wanted to wait so we could eat together.

Finally I ask the nice girl who was now working at the burger place (Burgy’s) since she took both orders if she knew where her soup was.

The order was lost. She asked what protein we wanted in the soup. “Tofu,” we answered again. “It will be right out,” she said.

Ten min later we were given a bag of food. We get to the car and drive home. She goes to lay down and I transfer the food to a bowl.

It isn’t tofu. It’s chicken.

She is beyond exhaustion. Tears are falling.

Oh, and I made a point of ordering a plain burger. It had cheese on it. I couldn’t eat it.

It would not be possible to mess these orders up any further. Time and...

Ordered chicken pad gai, chicken Massaman curry, Thai iced tea, and krab cream puffs. Order was ready relatively quick. Thankfully all chicken breast. The Krab cream puffs were crispy and pretty large. The massaman curry had a lot of chicken and vegetables in it. The pad gai had plenty of noodles and chicken. Everything tasted delicious and looking forward to trying...

Maybe the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. For starters it was WAY too hot - it was still steaming 15 minutes after I took the lid off. When I could finally eat it, there was absolutely zero flavor - just salt. I wound up throwing half of it away even though I was starving.
