I love fat state! It's fast, the menu is easy to understand, there are lots of options, and it's completely covid safe! There is a large menu outside, and for bubble tea you can choose between a base of milk tea(my personal favorite), blended (pretty much a slurpee but less sweet and artificial, and more fruity) or black tea. Then you choose a flavor. Mango is my personal favorite. There are fruit flavors, and other flavors like chocolate or Thai iced tea. Then after that, you choose the extras (the bubble in bubble tea). There is traditional boba, but they also have flavored popping bubbles and jellies.aftee you have decided on that, you go to a window on the outside of the store where they ring you up. It typically takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get it. They also have biodegradable straws that actually don't fall apart! There is also bahn mi, and small desserts, along with coffee. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, what more...
Read morePisspoor service, I used to come around a lot until they got my order wrong multiple times. First time I thought was just an accident and came back, and got the wrong order again, but when they were going to fix it...they got my order wrong, TWICE. In one visit. The woman serving me was extremely rude and scoffed when I asked for the right order.
I came back to treat my friends, they asked why they gave such little tea; the bubble tea is overpriced (I mean regular price but with HALF the tea is overpriced to me), the service ain't great, so why do I come?
I haven't come round since and I suggest you do the same. I wouldn't hesitate to say it was the worst bubble tea shop in Portland, but I don't give it one star just because I haven't gone back and they may have improved. The extra star is the benefit of the doubt because I will surely not be testing my theory. There are small businesses you can support that serve...
Read moreA charming, warm, and home feeling boba shop that's family run. I would 100% rather shop at these independent boba shops versus the boba chains just down the street. The first thing you notice upon walking in is the unique layout of the shop, a soothing little fountain in the front, slightly raised and bordered indoor seating, bamboo plants growing on almost every wall. The man and woman taking our order were kind and warm, and (if I'm correct) their son even asked if they needed help in the kitchen 😂, good kid. The mill tea and boba was quite delicious and not a long wait at all, although I can't recall specifics I do remember seeing unique menu items for the milk tea that I hadn't seen before. They also serve lunch items if you're hungry, if I wasn't stuffed I would've eaten there without a doubt. I'll definitely be back to visit the Fat Straw and walk down the street while I sip their...
