Flying Elephants at South Waterfront — Restaurant in Portland

Went in this morning to grab a kumbucha and some fruit. When I went to grab a nectarine my thumb almost punctured it. Confused I turned the thing over to discover that the whole underside was caked in mold. Upon further inspection I realized that all the nectarines had gone bad and molded. Keeping molded food right next to all their fresh food or in the restaurant at all is ridiculously gross. I told a lady behind the counter and she agreed that it was gross... that's all. I didn't even see them remove the vile fruit from the fridge. Next I grabbed a kumbucha. I got the synergy gingeraid, and noticed that the bottle color was different than usual. I just thought that it was a new design. I was running late for work and grossed out by the nectarines so I was in a hurry to leave. It wasn't until I was halfway to work and went to open the kumbucha that realized that they had sold me the 21+ version of the kumbucha which you are supposed to show ID to get. Best tomato soup in town !!! It’s really not that easy to accomplish the perfect amount of tang,sweetness - it’s perfect. The burger is mouth watering, grilled cheese has great texture. The one complaint would be that the Mac n Cheese was just far too dry and lacked flavor. The issue may be solvable with a layer of flavorful cheese sauce ? 🤷🏽‍♀️ The cost of our meal with two bags of chips, 2 waters and a cookie was somewhere in the $30 ballpark. Love it.

This place felt like my second home since it was just below the lab where I worked. The people were incredibly kind, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If they take a liking to you, they might even sing a poem for you!
