One of the best eateries in the OHSU waterfront area. Their specials are amazing, their baked goods are made fresh everyday and extremely tasty, their prices are very reasonable, soup and sandwiches are good (I've had their turkey sandwich many times), and their staff are very friendly, kind, professional, and on top of things. I've never had a bad experience here, and eaten here many times. They're always happy to see you, and you can tell they feed lots of comfort food to tired students, doctors, nurses, patients, and other staff. Just a great place, and if you're down by the Tram, do stop in and get something, as it's well worth it. It can be a bit busy around noon, so best time to come in is before or after the lunch rush. However even if there's a line, their staff is so on top of things that the line moves very fast, so it's hardly a wait at all. If you want a good breakfast, I recommend the Tram Eggs. Don't forget to ask for a side of jam and butter for your toast. They make their jam in house, and Idk if they add a splash of wine to it or what, but it...
Read moreThis may be PDX best kept secret as far as affordable great tasting food with a welcoming atmosphere and a staff second to none. My wife and I are refugees from L.A. now living in Texas coming to Oregon every month for my wife’s trial at OSHU. Since we have been coming we have always been treated with respect and love. It might be the secret ingredient in their food. I can only say this is our absolute go to when in PDX. I really should not share about this hot spot as it will only push higher traffic through the doors. Always a bright spot in our day. And only wish y’all were located in Texas. FYI the salsa is one of the best I have ever had. The coffee supreme and the cookies absolute heaven. The menu changes as regularly as the fresh food served here. And the friendships made have felt priceless. Thank you for staying consistent and continuing on making really good meals and memories...
Read moreThis is a very expensive place to eat! The food is pretty good for the most part, but not worth the portions and high prices!!
Also, THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE COFFEE!! I have worked at multiple coffee shops and know there is a right and a wrong way to pull shots. After watching them make my coffee (the shots drip out, instead of streaming steadily, they STOP the shot instead of timing it to make sure it stops on its own at the proper time, and they don't always put the shot in the milk/flavoring, so it ends up going bad) it is no freaking wonder my $4.50 16 oz coffee tastes burnt!!
They should take all that money they make and hire someone to calibrate their machine and teach them how to make coffee properly! A well known brand does no good if you're not making it right...
