GrindHouse Coffee — Restaurant in Portland

Love this place! After going today, I wanted to leave like a 2-star review, because it took 45 minutes (maybe 35?) to get my single bagel sandwich (which I was not stoked about--at all), and even then it didn't taste like it usually does. However, a clearer head prevailed and I decided to leave 5 stars because this place IS good and usually has better service AND food. They were rather busy, but I've been there when it was much busier. Someone who ordered two bagel sandwiches long after me got theirs first which was annoying. Maybe they were just hummus bagels or something, I don't know--but it's not a good look. I can also empathize as a small business owner. The owner of this place is very sweet, kind and professional and I didn't want to leave a bad review on a day that she wasn't there--what a bummer that would be on a day "off". At the same time...it's important to know what the deal is. The truth is: this place has good coffee and even better food--AND...today missed the mark in terms of consistency. Go try it out! I'm sure you'll love it! Just know--it may take some time if you catch them...

There is only one barrista/employee there. I arrived at 7:05 am and stood in line behind 3 people. Others were waiting who had already placed their order. She will get your coffee after a wait and then take more and more orders and get their coffee while people are waiting for their food. She got it out of order, or she caters to regulars, I have no idea. She was so completely inefficient. I had to go to work and suggested she just give my bagel to someone else. For the wait, for the quality of what you end up with, I would say not worth it, and not worth the attitude she flipped at me when I asked her to give my bagel away. It took 25 minutes. You can get better service and better...

When i inquired about the orange juice brand i was told "Anderson", unsure of the brand, i followed up asked if that was concentrated orange juice. The person responded "No". When i got my cup i noticed immediately it was concentrated. Growing up to Minute Maid i knew this watered down, poor excuse for real oj wasnt legit. I looked up Anderson OJ and got the answer. When i confronted the server, they said it was " Anderson Farms". Yo there is no Anderson farms except a sod supplier in Canby. I was lied to about something petty yes. But what does that tell you about the ethics of this company amd their employees? Lie to the customers to make money?...
