Thieves. Don't trust their hours, it says they're open until 10:30pm but the Zed closes at 9:30pm. I ordered food at 10:04pm on a Sunday night and received a confirmation saying it would be ready by 10:28pm. I drove 20 mins to get there only to find out that they were closed. Frustrated and disappointed I called them on Tuesday since they were closed on Monday and they said a manager would call me back in 2 hours.
4 hours later I called back and the manager told me he couldn't refund me and that I would have to request a refund through the website. I told him that was unacceptable and he told me the owner would call me in the morning. When he was about to hang up I asked him if he needed my number and he said, no, he could see my order and contact information. And that's where I got very angry. They saw the order, knew I had ordered after hours, knew that I never got my food, and they never bothered to call me back to apologize or work things out.
Needless to say, the next day came and went, no phone call back. The hours on Google state they're open to 10:30pm, their website says 12:00am, and their website allowed me to make an order after hours as well as send me a confirmation email with an estimated time to pick up. Yet The Zed closes at 9:30pm. And they're telling me they can't refund me and that I would have to go through the website, which I did call but it only goes to voicemail. I left a message and never got a call back either.
We'll definitely be disputing this...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the food. We ordered our "first time at a new Indian place dishes": Chicken tikki masala, aloo gobi, chicken korma, regular naan, and garlic naan. Each entry came with rice, salad, roti, and potato pakora. Everything was delicious, my new favorite place for Indian food in Portland. Flavors and spice level were on point and I look forward to going back. The 1 con was eating there while an event was happening. I didn't realize it was Oktoberfest and they had speakers pointing into the seating area blasting unnecessarily loud music. We had to scream to have a conversation where the people sitting next to me couldn't hear me because the music was so loud. To avoid the noise I'll be ordering to go in the future and eat it picnic style at the Lents park down the street. The service was amazing, the gal at the counter was very nice and even offered to show us photos of the dishes if there was anything we were...
Read moreReally nice expansive food hall with tons of appealing options. Unfortunately I'll never try them because I'll go to Hamara every time I'm there.
Wow! Been there twice now and the curry set is a great deal with a nice spread of accompaniments. Excellent chapati included.
But the real stars for me are Chole Bhature, a staple that you can't always find on this side of the river, and a lot of places that do offer it have lackluster bhature. Hamara's stands out though, and it's an absolute steal for 10 bucks.
The biryani is what will keep me coming back again and again, amazing layered flavor, ultimate comfort food. I could eat it every day. Ask for it spicy! They aren't shy with the spice but it's absolutely worth it if you can handle some heat. Super friendly family style business, if this place is in your neighborhood,...
