Ja'Das Soulful Eatz — Restaurant in Portland

I went on 9/20/25 I heard about it on TikTok, I took my family by to try it out Highly DONT recommend. The customers were nicer than the staff. I waited for an hour and 10 minutes for my food, not sure if that’s normal, but okay, when handed my food the lady gave me an a bad look? Not once had I show negative emotion and my family was very nice to everyone around us regardless of service. I saw/counted multiple customers that came in after us and got served before us, not sure if it’s because we aren’t from around there? All that aside I could’ve ate my food and not cared but the food got my youngest very sick, my oldest had the runs and i am just now getting over my nausea 9/22/25. Maybe bad luck I generally don’t leave reviews but this place stood out to me as very poorly managed and ran. So to recap I spent 80$ and some change for a reminder why I cook my food at home. Thank you. I hope it was just a bad day...

This place is so incredible!! I went here for the first time today with a friend who loves soul food and he said it’s the best he’s ever had. The catfish was amazing, super fresh with a very clean flavor and not oily at all. We got the collard greens and mac and cheese, which were also top tier! Disappointed. A 3 could have been a 5. Why? I ordered via DoorDash. I did not get 1 napkin, not 1 fork, not 1 sauce/hot sauce. If I order DoorDash and get a bag stapled w a receipt - that is now on the restaurant and not DoorDash to provide my accessories that will make my meal enjoyable! Yeah - so enjoy your 3 from your out of town guests who when we return to the area will not return here. Saying you are the best soul food in Portland and not giving that experience...
