Food is good but management lacks customer service skills. Upon receiving our food, I asked if they could bring us some salsa, our server brought us a squeeze bottle of both red and green salsas. My husband started to use the red salsa, the lid popped off and next thing you know he was drenched, his food was drenched, the table was drenched with salsa. He excused himself and left the restaurant to go home, leaving his uneaten, salsa filled plate behind. After several minutes, I got up went to the manager and asked her for some napkins, without looking up, she handed me some cocktail napkins. I cleaned up as best as I could, when our waitress finally stopped to check on us I explained what happened, she just looked at me and walked off. The manager stopped by my table and told me she could offer me a discount, she took his plate off the bill. Never said I am sorry, can I make you a to go plate, nothing. I know accidents happen but an.... I don't give ---- attitude from management, SHAME ON YOU! I will...

Not sure about the food; we didn't actually have the chance to eat. I was in town for my baby shower and went there for breakfast. The waitress we had didn't seem to know curtesy very well. I had to change my seat at the table bc I felt uneasy about being ran into or having something spilt on me. I had to move my belongings so she could set the tray down on the table to serve us and when she was serving the food she struggled with holding the tray with one hand and a hot plate with the other....which was over a 5 yr olds head. A plate should never be held over someone's head, especially a child's! While attempting to complain; was told by the management that they did not have time for it. Some days later a server at The restaurant seem the fb post that my cousin made about our experience and started a small argument with her. As a pregnant woman with Gestational diabetes; I would never skip a meal....but we walked out without eating and i will not go back. I will stick with El Mexicana...

Went to get a me thing to eat and had the worst experience food wise. We've eaten here before and never had a complaint till today. My husband ordered a caldo de res and it was nothing but the last of the soup, no meat at all nor vegetables. We asked for hand made corn tortillas and got flour tortillas that were reheated about 10 times....um just gross looking that he didn't even eat it. I ordered a burrito of fajita and yes where's the beef ugh. It was more tortilla and a lot of beans after I said easy on beans, and I and till had to oat for it. Soup was removed from ticket but I still had to pay for a horrible burrito. I don't know if I will be eating here again. I really see it as having poor management because they only had one waiter and we didn't get our food till after an hour of being there. Poor lady that was left in charge was stressing a lot and it wasn't even her fault that cooks sucked and that...

I love this place! It’s been a few years but the lovely atmosphere and the delicious food is stellar as always. The restaurant (and bathroom) was clean and filled with the wonderful smells of great Mexican food. We were seated and served quickly. Our server, Dulcima, was friendly and courteous. The chips (tasted homemade and fried to perfection) and the salsa (definitely homemade and will light you up) were great. I had the cheese enchilada plate with corn tortillas on the side. Every bite was delicious. The corn tortillas are made here and are thick and wonderful. There are taquerias on every corner in South Texas and most are good enough but La Iguana is so far superior to anywhere else. It is such a comfortable homestyle place and the staff made me feel welcome and happy.

First time here, certainly the last time here. Got enchilada’s with charro beans, charro beans looked like swamp water so I didn’t even eat it. Enchiladas were super bland with zero filling, rice was super mushy. Also got chalupas with asada meat, asada meat tasted super cheap and old. Only ate half of a chalupa and my stomach started to turn so bad, didn’t even finish my plate nor wanted to take the rest home. Sweet tea wasn’t even sweet and tasted watered down. Not worth the money I spent here. Go somewhere better in corpus

House made corn tortillas are special. Really thick and about the same diameter as the flour tortillas. I highly recommend trying the corn tortillas. They're not thin like store bought ones, although they still may break. I think the food is a great value (5 stars). I had the #15 barbacoa plate. I liked how the meat wasn't super oily like typical Mexican restaurants where the fat is oozing out of the meat. Still very tender and moist. I made my tacos using extra chip salsa. Friendly staff.
