Laughing Planet — Restaurant in Portland

First time ever trying out Laughing Planet. Wasn't quite sure what to expect. I guess if you eat here often then you may know how it works.. but it seemed a bit confusing to me. The menu was ok..but not sure what some of the stuff is. And I must admit I wasn't to impressed with the beverage selections. I went with a Bubba burrito..felt that a burrito would be a fairly safe choice. It was good..I would eat it again. I think I need to give this place a few more tries before I get to descriptive on my review. The atmosphere was some what of a different experience. The staff was friendly..but gave me a vibe of frustration at the fact I really didn't know what to order..or the regular operation of the place. My food didn't take long to get to me. That was nice. And while I don't mind a place that you buss your own table..I didn't like how the bussing station was set up. Made it difficult for me to do. And no labels as to what went where. Again..maybe I'm just an ignorant newbie here. And next time won't...

Ok, I've loved this place since I moved into the neighborhood in July 2017 however I have to be very honest here...is it that Michael the manager left to go to another location? The past two times I've eaten here were really disappointing I'm afraid to say. I order the same thing every time and first time my burrito was cold with hard rice. This second time, as I write this again, a cold burrito. Maybe has nothing to do with the change in management but really concerns me. I've always talked this place up to my friends who visit but now I'm sorry to say I won't bring them here. First time this happened I did talk to the new manager and was given a new and warmer meal. I had high hopes for The Laughing Plant, but unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. The Buba Burrito was incredibly bland—no real flavor or seasoning, just very “meh.”

The chili had good flavor, but it was served at room temperature, which really took away from the experience. It would have been much better if it was hot.

The bowl looked great, with vibrant ingredients, but it was also lacking in flavor. For a place that seems to focus on fresh, plant-based food, I expected more seasoning or some sort of standout taste.

On the plus side, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was decent, but when the food isn’t enjoyable, it’s hard to justify coming back. Overall, it was a pretty forgettable meal. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they seriously improve...
