TLDR: cheap sandwiches but they skimp out on the goods.
Let me just start off my saying that although the sandwiches are good and the toppings seem fresh, they really skimp out on the protein. I ordered the Pork Roll sandwich and I felt like I was eating just bread because the meat was just one row thick. I had to chuckle at the employee that was on his lunch break with a fully loaded meaty sandwich that was more meat than bread! I did one of those double takes and then stared at my sad scrawny sandwich. Haha!
Small sandwich shop. Be mindful of where you sit--there is a chilling breeze if you sit too close to the door when I opens and there are ventilation ducts that point downward over some tables. They have snacks and drinks available for purchase scattered about.
Service: grab non-sandwich items that you push to purchase, order and pay at the front, seat yourself, your number will be called by a PA system.
They have no teas or bubble teas (at least when I went around noon on a Saturday). Only smoothies were available.
You can't really go wrong with any sandwich type--it's just the that they skimp out on the toppings, especially the protein. I always love the pickled carrots/radish and cilantro in the sandwiches. Pork roll is my favorite deli meat because it isn't too...
Read moreI am changing my review because the young workers they have are rude and disrespectful and they lie about wait times on the phone and sometimes don't even bother to answer. I will show up 5 minutes after i call and to my suprise, they are just standing around and act like they are stoned when you ask them a question. The only exception is one young man with black framed glasses. He is amazing and goes above and beyond but the other kids working there are completely unprofessional. They will stand there and play on their phones while customers are waiting in line to get their order taken and they have no manners. I own a business as well and i would be ashamed to have these punks tarnishing my brand like this. Maybe, its a cultural thing but we live in America and the standard of respect and politeness is different here and a business in America should follow the standards of this country. Im not saying the customers always right, because usually they are not, but some standards of how you should properly interact with customers is very important for a...
Read moreI have been a customer of Lee's sandwiches since I was a teenager living in Southern California. After moving from place to place without a Lee's Sandwiches, it was such a wonderful surprise to find one here in Portland! The food is so delicious no matter what you order. The baked goods are baked fresh and are simpley bliss. Both the Asian and European sandwiches are wonderful. (A little tip if you're getting an Asian sandwich to go, ask for the veggies on the side. The whole sandwich will store better and taste much fresher). I also highly recommend their Vietnamese hot and iced coffee. It is so good! I personally like the coffee smoothie because it is not as heavy as a normal blended coffee drink, but it is instead very true to their normal iced Vietnamese coffee. Although the prices have gone up over the years, it is still one of my favorite places to get a coffee drink, almond, croissant, and sandwich. Please check them out! You will...
