Healthy eating, juicing is a way of life, but it comes at a steep price, especially in this economy. I found out about this local juice spot from the app Too Good to Go. Up until the last 2 trips I was blown away by the quality, price and juices/nut milks I’ve received. I buy through the app to “save a meal” before the company has to put it to waste. Meals are priced at 1/3 of the price and the product can be enjoyed just prior to expiration.
The past order contained nut milks that were fermented, despite having a Best Buy date that had not been overlooked, yet. The app generously refunded me the price. I gave the company another shot tonight, on a Friday, with a commute, during rush hour, and with a really tight timeline due to my own kid’s schedule of being in 2 places at the same time. It took coordination, effort and energy to brave the Friday traffic and make a repeat trip into Portland.
But because I had ordered multiple bags, it made sense from a cost/energy standpoint. I walked in right at delivery time to see that my order has been canceled. I asked the person working what I was supposed to do and when I was alerted to save me the drive. He shrugged and didn’t know.
I left bagless and completely frustrated by a repeat disappointing experience at Portland Juice Co. When I got home a half hour later, I opened up the app to reach out to the company to ensure I had received a refund. Turns out only 1 bag was canceled, despite the employee telling me they sold out and had nothing for me.
When I called later he said it was a misunderstanding. Sending away a paying customer empty handed is not a misunderstanding. It’s horrendous customer service and not forward thinking in a time when he could have employed alternate options rather than turning someone away. Never again will I waste a trip for subpar quality and lacking...
Read moreI finished the "refine" cleanse a few days ago and WOW. It was my first cleanse ever, I was really, really skeptical going in, and now I'm completely hooked. I actually did it because I was a big "juice cleanse" nay-sayer, but that of course means one thing: I have to try it in order to speak on it.
The juices were DELICIOUS (the beet juice, dear god, just feed that to me every day for the rest of my life), and I loved that each day ended with a satiating nut milk.
I'm a runner/cyclist/yogi and I was worried that I would crash. Surprisingly, I wasn't hungry, and I've been on an absolute high since. I've detoxed from caffeine (which I've been trying to do for over 15 years), have no sugar cravings, and am still riding the salt-free train just to see how my taste buds respond.
As an added bonus, it totally kicked me out of an uninspired cooking/nutrition slump, I can't wait to do it again after I come back from vacation next month :)
Consider me a convert,...
Read moreThe worst quality and consistency of any juice place I’ve ever been to. The vegetable and fruit juices lacked flavor and the pairings were odd. The non dairy milk smoothie type options were atrocious. About as thick as it gets with somehow no flavor. Made it impossible to drink with the thickness. These were $10 each and so not worth it. I bought six different options and all were disappointing. No calories or other nutritional information on the labels. The employee didn’t seem to know anything when I asked basic questions.
No masks and the sign on the door about them was confusing. An extraordinarily tiny storefront so they should really limit the number of customers during a surge. Only positive thing was the plethora of parking and the containers which were easy to rinse for the...
