I've been half wanting to go here half not for a really long time. The thing that threw me off was it said "Teriyaki" which got me worried if the place was authentic. That was a totally invalid concern. I think this is my new favorite resturaunt. I am totally bringing friends here 😁 this place deserves more love and recognition.
I love the sauce it came with too. I think it's called achar? I would ask for it every time if not provided originally. Nothing was super spicy but it was super flavorful because it was more of a layered thing, like I could taste the flavors under the spice. I also really appreciated that nothing was overly oily.
--- appetizers --- ❤️Pani puri ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ exactly what you'd expect if you've had it before! the iterations I've had came with a chutney, but this one came with a delicate refreshing sort of water that just is delightful it's really good and refreshing super delicate outside doesn't taste as oily as some I've had
Chatpat ⭐⭐⭐✨ puffy rice this is genuinely delicious to fill you up, highly recommend if you want something that tastes comforting and interesting wouldnt personally be a go to dish for me since I tend to need more vegetables with that much carbs, but it was good. Almost snacky. sour and spicy which I adore get it medium spice to still taste the sour flavor underneath
--- momos --- This is now my new favorite way to have dumplings, the crisp is perfect and it's drenched in flavor. I've been to several momo spots before (namo at heist, Himalayan Dumplings by Kyikyi and others) but this absolutely blows them out of the water. The crispy bottom and sauce really makes it perfect. Pork is my favorite so far over beef.
❤️Pork chili momo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like the chili soaked dumplings the pork was juicy this one has a tiny bit of a crunch to it
Beef chili momo ⭐⭐⭐⭐ think the pork was juicier slightly salty, but the texture was great
❤️Pork jhol momo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ juicy and delicious think this might be my favorite one
--- Chow mein --- Chicken ⭐⭐⭐ didn't love the flavor of the meat itself thought the chicken was overcooked and dry loved the noodles got a 4 spice level and it wasn't spicy, but I think it's the sweet spot to still taste the flavors underneath good portion size, took home leftovers
❤️Pork ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ this is definitely the one to get the meat isn't dry, it's soft and it...

Chilli mo:mo - absolutely lovely. A bit of crisp on to the dumpling wrapper, coated in tangy, spicy sauce. The filling is juicy, spiced perfectly, and delicious. If you like some spice with your dumplings, order these! I forgot to take a picture of these because they were so delicious.
Jhol mo:mo - steamed dumplings smothered in a flavorful tomato broth. The umami levels were off the charts. Absolutely order these, they were fantastic.
Pani Puri - a cold appetizer; a thin, somewhat delicate crispy sphere filled with Nepali spiced potato, pickled veggies, and either chickpea or lentils. Served with a vinegar based sauce that you pour into the little ball, eaten in one bite. Absolutely wonderful flavor bombs - ORDER THESE.
Chat Pat - puffed rice salad, sort of? Puffed rice, peanuts, onions, cucumber, crispy noodles, and a light vinegar, heavily herbed/spiced dressing. Really wild, loved it, never had anything...

We had an incredible experience at Portland Teriyaki and Nepali Cafe. From the moment we walked in, the warm and friendly staff made us feel welcome. The service was excellent—quick, attentive, and genuinely hospitable.
The food was simply outstanding! We tried the Veg Chilli Momo, Veg Thali, Pani Puri, Veg Chowmein, and Chatpat, and every dish was bursting with authentic flavors. The momo had the perfect balance of spice and texture, the thali was a delightful mix of traditional flavors, and the pani puri was crisp and refreshing. The chowmein and chatpat were equally delicious, capturing the essence of Nepali street food. Chat-Pat is a must have the flavors where incredible.
Adding to the experience was the live Nepali and Hindi music—the singer had an absolutely amazing voice, creating a wonderful ambiance that made our evening even more special.
