Nice place, and it’s clear that the person handling this restaurant has true passion. However, as it stands, it is certainly below a 4.0 rating. It’s a lovely spot and nicely decorated. All the instruments to make a great meal seem to be present, including the pizza oven, natural wines, beautiful produce, and the Rocket. But this place falls short in putting everything into play. The host Ben seems a little abrupt and overly meticulous, which doesn't make it very relaxing. The waitress handling our table also seemed a bit lost. When we were done with placing our order, she asked if we wanted to open up a tab or close the bill... which was confusing to say the least. On the food side, surprisingly, half the appetizers were missing, including the arancini. We ended up ordering the raw vegetables and two pizzas, including the marinara with burrata, and to finish, the cannoli. The dough of the pizza was not impressive; it seemed like the levain didn’t work enough, so the crust was a bit soggy and slightly chewy. And yes I understand it's a sourdough base. The burrata was really cold and firm and should have been out of the fridge before serving. Just a nice stracciatella would have been much better. That said, the rest of the ingredients were spot on. Overall, the restaurant falls short on delivery, but the potential is there. It seems like the place is missing some proper overseeing and a little bit more love in the plate. I hope this feedback is constructive, and we’ll see some improvements.

A true gem! You won't find anyone else in town making authentic Neopolitan sourdough pies like owner Betsy and her team do. We have been back four times already (and they've only been open a few weeks); each time we have been wowed by the unique flavors in menu regulars like the 'Nduja and the Margherita, and the daily special La Stagione--highlighting in season delicacies. Each item on the carefully curated selection of cocktails and wines delightfully compliments the excellent food. The friendly atmosphere--Adam makes you feel at home the moment you walk in the door--round out the experience. During a visit on a busy night Betsy took the time to chat with us about all things pizza while she was cooking. We will be back! Again and again.

Let me first say that I don't like to less than positive reviews, but how would you know if we don't voice our opinion? My husband and I are foodies and more in agreement with the less than positive reviews. It was a disappointing experience because my recollection of the pizza made out of the truck on the Eastern Promenade was better. Although the presentation was well enough, the dough was meh, the toppings bland and worst of all, the pizza was quite burnt and black on the bottom. When we asked for silverware, we were told they don't give them out but they brought us 2 forks. When we asked for a box to take home leftovers, we were given them on a paper plate in a brown bag. We left unimpressed and will not return.

I feel like I need to write a good review everytime I leave this place! Food was consistent and delicious as always. It was my first time with our server and seeing the woman running the pizza oven but both held up to the high, high standard of hospitality I've always experienced. My server recommended me the perfect glass of wine, was great with conversation when I wanted another glass but didn't want to deal with the consequences of another she offered me a half pour. A perfect compromise. Pizza was cooked perfectly and the woman cooking it was a total sweetheart, with a super clean station. Win win. Super admirable. I felt bad as my friends ride was late, past closing time, but the employees never made us feel rushed or bad for staying past 9. (For the record, I did feel bad about this and don't like doing, nor encourage others to!)

Another amazing meal and experience at Quanto Basta! Portlands...
