This is the only Human Beab sit down location that I am aware of. The location of freshly remodelled and put into service. Staff is friendly and courteous. Product is good.
The issue that I have is that the place lacks should and heart today when compared to their drive though locations. They need to make this place more homey than a standard boxed franchise food/coffee retailer. It's not a place that I'd like to go to for a Saturday/Sunday coffee with friends or family. It's too sterile and uninviting.
Also, the acxoustics is really bouncy. All surfaces are hard and the espresso grinder will overshadow any conversation at the tables. It needs some accoustic sound pannels to muffle the sound.

Read moreI've missed coming here since we moved to a different part of town last year. Happened to be driving by this past weekend and instantly wanted a peppermint mocha. When I handed over my old stamp card for another stamp, the lovely barista was so saddened to break the news to me that they stopped redeeming stamp cards. No worries, it had been a year since I had gone there. She was so nice and considerate about it that she gave me my drink for free and instructed me on how I could sign up for their new app to earn rewards.
What fantastic customer service! Though it's no longer super convenient for me to pop by for a delicious coffee now and then, I'm certainly going to make a greater effort to make it to that part of town. She was friendly, kind, professional and even chatted us up about our dogs in the back seat. And, the peppermint mocha was sensational! Really hit the spot!...

The girl, who I regrettably did not ask her name, mentioned it was her first day on the job, but like a seasoned Portland barista, she took our orders with wit. After a loaded plate of lamb schwarma, my mouth was drier than Southern California after these fires, and I was looking forward to a lemonade. But to all of our displeasure: it was sold out. With heroic jest, another barista appears and offers a refreshing blended lemon purée smoothie like a true opportunist. To say the least, I left The Human Bean with a coffee, latte, hot tea, lemon smoothie and a true appreciation for this artisnal chain...
