After my outing to Ambassador last night I will not be returning again. I brought a big group of friends and family to sing karaoke on Saturday night because my parents have a Chinese exchange student visiting America for the first time. Every time anyone ordered a drink there was confusion over which server had our card so every drink took forever to get (I also felt a little uneasy knowing that no one at the bar knew exactly where my credit card was located). My mom and her friends ordered orange chicken and it was served with melted cheddar cheese on top. Then to top the night off, while I was singing a song (that I waited 40 minutes to sing), some drunk man walked up to me while I was onstage, grabbed my waist and started grinding on me. I tried to push him off and he came back so my boyfriend had to step in, all the while the staff did nothing. The guy went back to his seat and continued to sit and drink with his friend. Our whole group was very uncormfortable and left almost immediately after, feeling our night and our exchange students experience was ruined. The food and service were enough to make me think again before visiting, but after seeing how staff handled an assault happening on their main stage I don't feel safe returning. UPDATE: that night (pre-drunk dude) I'd signed up for their karaoke contest. I got 3 separate calls asking if I still wanted to be in the contest. Every time, I explained why I didn't want to go back to Ambassador and I was told, "Oh okay" , "are you sure?" , and, "well the finals are at trio club". NOT ONCE IN THE TREE TIMES THAT THEY CONTACTED ME DID THEY HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THE FACT THAT I WAS GRABBED BY A DRUNK MAN IN FRONT OF THEIR STAFF WHO...
Read moreA NEW HIGH IN LOWS. this was quite possibly the worst chinese food I've ever eaten. lets start with the BBQ spare ribs. i think of a chinese spare rib as about 4' long and a smoky (dare i say it?) bbq taste. the ribs were little nubs of meat that had been cooked then breaded then fried and then doused in some non descript sauce.
pork fried rice was just huge amounts of salty rice. not spicy. even overly spicy i can handle . no, this rice was just pure salt. i actually winced the way one does when they bite into a lemon wedge.
The Ambassador pan fried noodles were about as bland as can be. that dish ( a specialty of the house i was told) reminded me of when i was a kid and my mom would buy those cans of LaChoy chinese foods.i was 13 so i didn't know better. but again this dish was nothing anyone should order ever.
i also ordered the fried won ton appetizer. they could have been ok but they had a slight taste of dish soap to them. as if someone had some soap on their hands or in the dish, and it had touched the won tons.
won ton soup. nothing tantalizing about this soup and the wonton noodles fell apart as if they had been lingering in that soup for a few days. these are not fresh wontons used in the soup.
spring rolls- they've seen better springs. these might want to be called autumn rolls. or even winter rolls. a bit greasy.
overall just really bad food. but i hear the karaoke is...
Read moreI would not be writing this review had management returned my call 5 days ago to discuss this matter. I was promised a call back the next day after I talked to the on shift manager, who reassured me that upper management would reach out to me, they did not. We went to the Ambassador a week ago to get dinner to go. I have no complaints about the service from the bar, she was great. We placed an order to go of: Sweet & Sour Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Pork Fried Rice and Crab Puffs. I asked for chinese mustard & red sauce to be included. Our dinner total came to $91.00, a bit of a surprise. We got home with our to go order and everything was basically un-edible. The sweet and sour chicken (sauce on the side) which consisted of about 10 small pieces of deep fried chicken was laying soggy on a bed of white rice. The pork fried rice was very oily and what little bit of pork that was in it was charcoal black and the sparse veggies were some frozen peas and carrots, the crab puffs were hard and the filling cold, lastly, the broccoli beef was in a pool of brown gravy with over cooked broccoli, we did not get our mustard either. We ended throwing it all away. I am beyond disappointed all the way around, we are not only out the $91, they haven't even given us the courtesy of a return phone call. ...
