Hidden Gem in portland. Some of the freshest sushi and best food you can find in the city. All the staff is wonderful and the owners are such cool people with tons of experience in the industry. There is a rotating cocktail menu (make sure to check out the shrubs) and happy hour starts at 8 and goes until close ( $5 musubi is a must !) The real draw and what keeps me returning is the weekly specials which are regularly switched out and always unique, fresh and delicious. The homemade ice cream which makes its way on the menu occasionally is some of the best i’ve had. There’s also a great outdoor patio which opens up for the sunny months and it’s lovely. This place does not disappoint!

I have to say I've passed by this little gem that's nestled so well into the neighborhood many times, it's easy to miss but A MUST TRY for sure!! From the peaceful outside seating with water feature backgrounds to the beautiful ambiance inside, this place feels so welcoming and upscale cozy, if you know what I mean! We tried out the majority of the happy hour menu. The green beans and California rolls are hands down the best I've ever had. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious and the prices are super typical for happy hour. The rest of the menu appeared to be pretty affordable as well. Can't wait to go back!!

This place is incredible! It was unusually calm for opening time on Friday (they usually have a line) so we didn't have to wait and sat at the bar. The bartender was super sweet and helpful in suggesting her recommendations. We got the seared ahi tuna wontons, the green beans, a tofu roll, and a funky tuna roll. The Japanese whiskey list was impressive and I got their seasonal shrub spritzer. All of it was perfect. They make everything fresh from scratch. Good atmosphere. And again, super lovely staff! A gem in SE Portland 🥰

Sup sushi people. Zenbu be slappin delish slabs of sush on your plates and servin some wicked drinks. It also has a pirate/nautical meets spooky lounge motif which is pretty dope. Me and the ol’ lady have been here a few times and really enjoyed it. There’s a gal that works here that is wonderful and gives great service. Unfortunately we were there the other night and we had a waiter that was kind of a butthead. There were two couples and we ordered separately, but he put it all in as one order and we had to Tetris our sushi, admittedly not the biggest deal, conserve on the dishes, I’m with that. But then someone in our party ordered a drink from another waiter and he brought it out, she asked to clarify “is this the rose wine” to which he replied “I don’t know, I didn’t take the order I’m just bringing it to you” in a pretty butthead tone. He just didn’t seem interested in serving us at all, like we were ruining his night. But as a former server and bus boy myself I always try and treat people right, but this fella just wasn’t havin it. Maybe he didn’t approve of my beard or somethin. Anyway, if we go here again and he’s workin, we’ll just hit another spot or sit at the bar. The food and drink is...

Midday cravings brought me to Zenbu Lounge today. You can tell this is a local favorite with the amount of casual walk ins. They have a wide selection of drinks. I got the Hub Lemon which Wesley described as a beer and juice. It's only about 2.75% but I was 96.25% satisfied with it. The drink paired well with the 13th st roll. Its a nice crunchy roll with the shrimp tempura and has a good flavor with the siracha mayo sauce on the plate. Pretty popular as the table behind me ordered it too. Next was the brisket musubi. This was not what I was expecting. It was loaded up with nice juicy beef. Still kind of weirds me out to have meat with sushi but here it works. Everything was perfectly filling and my whole meal was pretty affordable for a sushi craving. Great time, music will bring you to a throw back but great space. If you're a foodie and love taking pictures except an orange glow from the cool hanging paper lanterns above you. Or put your phone down and enjoy the...

This review comes with mixed feelings and i'm sorry to the owner. But we came (me and my partner) in hopes for good sushi and drinks close to home. (we live in happy valley)

I will say that the food was amazing!!!!! drinks were good. But maybe we made the mistake of sitting at the bar.

We are a queer couple surrounded by straight caucasian couples. The level of attention they got, we did not get.

I am very passive, compared to my partner and this time, i sadly notice.

They asked all the questions to the couples around us, and I had to ask for multiple things. Not once was I asked if my food was good (like the rest), if we needed anything else. We were brought our check after 2 drinks, and she didn't do this to anybody else.

I started this review with 4 stars, because I refused to see everybody this way. But I believe the front staff is a representation of the back.

I'll continue to wait over an hour for a downtown...
