Sadly, my experience was very poor... I took my teenage daughter to this location and we were both excited to try a new sushi place! We both ordered LOTS of sushi and I also ordered a bowl of Japanese soup. The sushi was okay and I thought it was quite expensive for the little amount that you get in each order. The waiter was very nice, yet quite forgetful and forgot to bring eating utensils, napkins, my daughter's drink, one of her sushi orders, and her desert. We gave him grace anyway because he was so nice. But then when he brought my soup, I was so excited! I took one spoonful of the soup and was shocked with disgust! It was HORRIBLE and had some strange chewy vegetable that I have NEVER seen. The egg in the soup was super hard on the white part, then runny inside! After that one bite, I could eat no more. I respectfully told our waiter that I really did not like the soup and asked if I could substitute it for something else and pay the difference. I just ordered more sushi because I was so hungry! The waiter said he would check with the owner who was there that day to see if he could waive me paying for the soup. THE OWNER SAID NO, even though we were already spending a lot of money there. I asked again and the waiter returned again to tell me that the owner said that he would only take 10% off of the cost of the soup alone, but nothing else. I was SHOCKED that he was making me pay for it though I only took one bite, yet I complied because I did not want to cause any problems! I was very hurt by that experience and have no good thing to say about Mio Sushi. We will never be going back again! That is very bad business sense that the owner displayed that day and it reflects very badly on his business. I doubt that he even cares because I am just one pebble in a large pond, however these little things add up to big things and mean more than we realize! Eventually, it all catches up with us and often can destroy a seemingly flourishing...
Read moreWon't be returning! I've been to other Mio locations as well as this one before, and I've liked it for what it is- affordable and tasty. However this last visit was so bad that I swore to never return. It took a little longer than usual before our orders were taken, but it wasn't terrible. However the real fun started that after waiting an hour for just the Sake and the appetizer that we ordered. After tracking down the wait staff multiple times to check on our order, we finally received our sushi over two hours after we arrived. I understand that they can get busy- but that is ridiculous. The final straw was while we were waiting for the food that we ordered the waiter decided to come by and ask if we wanted to get desert while we waited. Um, no, I wanted the food that I ordered hours ago! They were "nice" enough to give me a 10% off coupon for our next visit for the trouble. Aww, gee, thanks.
Keep in mind that we were not the only ones that night that felt this way, there were multiple other people there that walked out after waiting forever for the food- in hindsight I wish...
Read moreWe walked in and were seated almost immediately. Server brought us water etc.. ordered apatizer and a bento box for my daughter. We then ordered 7 rolls. Apetizer came out rapidly as well as the bento. Another server came and offered us a to go box because my daughter was done with her food. An hour later we still had not recieved our rolls. I then requested our food to go. The server tried to apologize repeatedly and I told him 1 you need to set the expectations that it will take over an hour to get food. 2 you also need to set the expectation that the TOGO food takes priority. When I told him that I got better service at their aloha location the rude dude suggested that we go there from now on. And yet I still paid $90 for food to go. The manager was nowhere to be seen. The most apathetic staff I have ever encountered and I used to work for dennys where culinary...
