It pains me to give this place to Stars but what happened tonight was unacceptable. I have always done take out and for the most part they've done a great job. This was my first time dining in. It took the waitress over 15 minutes to take my order and 40 minutes to bring my food she never refilled my water another server finally found out or realized and gave me some but overall I feel like I was neglected. When I was done eating I pushed my plate to the corner to try to make it more noticeable I was finished. After waiting a while I then took my car to pay and put it on the table against signaling I was done and wanted to be helped. I could not even make eye contact with one of the servers they were moving so fast and never looked in my direction. Maybe they were understaffed but when I came in they were not busy I heard one of the staff members say over the phone that take out was only 30 minutes yet in the restaurant I had to wait at least 40 minutes for food. I asked for the food to be medium spicy and there is no spice at all. At the last few bites I got some spice so I'm not sure if the sauce just was not mixed properly or there just was not enough in it. A nice gentleman from across the restaurant noticed I was being neglected he stopped a server and told her about my situation she looked in my direction and I politely smiled. She went to take care of a few more things and then came over she was apologetic I said it was okay but I just wanted my bill. That also took quite a few minutes and when it came I started to do the math for the tip but then realized something was very wrong. I had ordered one dish and only water to drink yet on my bill there were two drinks and two dishes. I had witnessed multiple tables having to stand up and go to the register to get attention from the servers. I do not believe the server servers are being lazy I think they might have been understaffed or overwhelmed as the place continue to get busier and more take out orders for taken. I waited in line and then witnessed a gentleman come in that had been in earlier for takeout they had gotten his order wrong. There are now two lines forming one for in the restaurant and one for takeout. During this time there is one server trying to deal with all the people and one server still trying to bring food to her tables. When I finally got to my turn I explained that my bill was wrong and I only wanted to pay for the dish I ordered. I also noticed on the bill that she had put no spice when I'd ask for medium spice level so that answered my question why my food was not spicy. She again was apologetic. I said that's fine I just want to pay my bill. When she went to go take care of that I asked the man next to me with the takeout and he said that they did get their order wrong I told him I've never had this much trouble with this establishment. When she finally brought my bill I checked it it was correct I paid and I left. But because of this poor service I was late to my class I thought I had plenty of time. When all was said and done I've been in the restaurant for an hour and a half way too long. With so many Thai places to choose from I am not sure if I will return to this one which makes me sad but I'm still very frustrated with the situation I was put in and a feeling of being neglected. Maybe in time I will just...
Read moreFirst. I love that this place is a mixture of authentic and modern. The decor is so lovely and interesting. Second. Any place where I can feel right as Home is a place in my heart for sure.
My bf was craving Thai food and what better place than down the street from our house. I was happy that I got to order in Thai, even though I'm a bit rusty. The server would respond and ask me questions back in Thai.
My Bf got the green curry with Chicken. Which was a bit sweet but still really flavorful. They have a lot of veggies like eggplant, bamboo shoots, sweet peppers. He just wanted the heat to be upped to a level 7 and not the '5' they have him. We've been dating a while now so he can handle that Thai spice hah.
I got the beef noodle soup. The whole thing was enormous for their lunch side. She even brought me a spice rack so I could make it my own. Which is true Thai tradition. I loaded it up with some vinegar and jalapeños with a ton of chili oil and chilis in addition to the garlic chili sauce. Literally a thin layer was on top of my soup. The broth was perfect after that.
I gave my bf a sip and he was impressed. He said it took him back to when we were in Thailand and sitting in a 100 year old house on the river bank and we ate the same kind of boat noodle soup.
Really this place is perfect. Thank...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed in what was once a restaurant I recommended for friends when they asked for an amazing place in Sellwood.
The last time we visited, we were ignored for about ten minutes while the waitress tender to the the tables around us before we were even given water.
The service tonight was the epitome of terrible - we ordered our food and from that point sat at the table for an entire 45 minutes before our food actually arrived. During that time, the waitress didn't even stop to ask if we wanted drinks refilled. When we asked what was taking so long, she kept saying "one more moment" and would rush off. A group of four arrived 5-10 minutes after we did, and they had received, eaten, and paid for their entire meal by the time we received our appetizer.
I'm not sure what has happened exactly, but after these past two visits, I'm going to have to tell my friends that I'd no longer recommend this place at all. There are plenty of Thai places in Sellwood. What was once my favorite is now a...
