I didn't realize this was an Asian style food place prior to coming here. We live across the street and thought it was like a Latin or American style restaurant. My kids each ordered the basic popcorn chicken combo, one kid got regular fries and one got the hot cheetoh fries. I didn't even look at the price before ordering which was my bad, it was $30 for each kid to have popcorn chicken and fries, no drink. My teenage son ate one piece of chicken and said that it tasted like garlic even though we ordered the basic salted one and that it was just overall "gross". It wasn't so much popcorn chicken as much as kind of like tiny fried chicken from the looks of it I guess and the fries were soggy he said but they were okay. My son ate a few fries and a couple bites of one chicken. My daughter said the cheetoh fries were okay but they put them in a container mashed in with the chicken so the chicken became cheesy cheetoh chicken and the fries had a strange garlic taste like the chicken even though she didn't order garlic. Unfortunately they both decided they didn't want to eat anymore after just a few bites. I will say that it did seem like decent portions, it is just definitely not any kind of popcorn chicken that we are used to. If you like fusion type foods, maybe you would like this? All the food has like a strange pho-type strong smell I would say. Which is not really appetizing in my opinion for this style of food. But they should really box their food separately to avoid ruining the food. Also, it would be really helpful to get a speaker or remove the barrier between the customer and cashier because it was dang near impossible to hear what the cashier was saying while ordering. Shoot, maybe he DID think I said garlic chicken since we could barely hear eachother. I really considered going up and asking for a refund because my kids ate nearly none of the $30 food but I could barely even communicate through the plexiglass with the workers so I didn't want to deal...
Read moreI was so looking forward to trying out this location, I heard good things from friends. I did not know it was a fusion place, only that they had bubble tea and elotes and mangonadas which I know are two very different traditional ethnic foods. I had been craving an elote or esquite and I really wanted to try their mangonadas(mango and spicy sauce smoothie). On first impressions, both looked SO good. However, the elote dish was super small for the price and it was so weird tasting. I think it was not the traditional mexican mayo or even american mayo and that changed the flavor so much. I don't know what type of cheese they used, but it was too salty or maybe due to the flavor of the mayo it was a stronger salty flavor? It was one of the worst elotes I have ever tried, and I have had a lot. I would not recommend this at all. The mangonada, was okay but not great. There was an odd chemical taste to it. I am not sure if this came from a flavor syrup that had gone bad or if maybe the ice or mangos used were not clean? I am not sure but it was hard to finish, so I had about half and then had to toss it. I will say the drink was well priced if they used fresh mangoes, unfortunately I didn't see how they prepared it because there was a lot of things in the way. Another thing I forgot, was they seem to be very stingy with their ingredients. The service was subpar, if that. I asked the cashier a few questions and she did not seem happy to answer them. When I asked for something like a lid or something, she didn't say anything she just walked away and came back and handed it to me. I would not recommend to my friends or would go back again. Save your money and go to...
Read moreI’ve been to this place a few times but today was the first time since COVID. Pre-COVID, I loved this place! Food was good, service was great, lines were not a problem. Today my boyfriend and I had a craving since we had not been in so long. When we arrived there was no line which I thought was going to be awesome since when we went a while ago it was still new to the area and there was always a line out the door. I was wrong... there were only minimal employees and all seemed like they didn’t really know what they were doing. The music was so loud that with masks and the giant plexi window neither one of us could hear each when trying to order. The cashier kept having to turn the screen around - at that rate just let the customers order themselves! Anyways after finally getting our fixed and right we got our number. My boyfriend got the Cookie Monster shake and they made our drinks right away. This was fine for my drink but a milkshake? In the half hour it took to get our food together his shake was almost completely melted. It took a half hour to make some elotes, garlic noodles, and chicken tenders. They’ve changed how they serve the elotes, it used to be in a pie pan. Now it’s in a cup, the cup 3/4 full of corn then a thin layer of Mayo and Cheetos on top. Because of this with no layering in a tall cup by the time I got half way through it was JUST corn at the bottom. Disappointing. My boyfriends fries were cold, stale, and bland.... overall very disappointed after today’s visit. I used to love this place, now I don’t think we’ll...
