I like the fact that you have to sanitize your hands and wear a plastic gloves prior to handling the food at the open buffet that is a huge plus at this establishment, which is why I came back Letās start with the turkey chops very good flavor. The turkey chops was really tender and had plenty of gravy wasnāt salty and did not need any additional season unless you wanted to add hot sauce or pepper sauce. The macaroni and cheese was on point the cabbage cooked to perfection very flavorful, and the cabbage was not mushy or too tough the same with the collard greens very well season they know how to use the oil and the bases The fried chicken, yes, always a favorite, not overly season not salty, not undercooked and not heavily breaded The fried fish I really wish that fried fish was cooked with cornmeal the southern way not the batter The turkey wings overall they were tender however they couldāve cooked maybe 15 or 20 minutes more in the oven I had to chew a little more than needed. The gravy was perfect. Maybe a little bit more cream of chicken or add a little more poultry seasoning. I didnāt really taste any bell pepper, onion, or celery with the turkey wings. The sweet potatoes wasnāt overly sweet seasoned well The pig feet as always delicious cooked down simmered Tender and seasoned very well. Overall, I would highly recommend this establishment. Itās good eats for a fair price. Youāre not breaking the bank like at some eating establishments. The dessert needs some work maybe a dessert station like you have set up with the salad bar. I was kind of disappointed to look at a sliver of cake. It wasnāt even a full slice. It was like a piece of a piece. I donāt know what that was and not everybody is a fan of Cherry pie. Iām sure a banana pudding and peach cobbler would be a hit along with a socket to me quick or seven up cake of some sort and of course, the cornbread no words it was a piece of cake on its own. Thank you for preparing this food today...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe customer service was low & the price was kind of high for the lack of choices we had! $26pp for all you can eat soul food, under 12y.o $13ā¦ šš½ cool! (I paid $43 for me & my son) It was a total of 16 ppl in our party⦠the ceiling was leaking water, we assumed it was from the rain but after too many times of us fighting water in our food & on us, we spoke to the manager & his explanation was the air conditioner condensation! He asked if we wanted to move to a different area which splits our party up bc now some of us have lost our appetite. The Mac & cheese was not good, the candied yams were hard & nutmegged out, string beans bland ⦠I didnāt taste the cabbage, however the collards were good. The bread came half way thru the meal after asking a few times & it looked burnt & was not fresh so no one ate it(they were out of cornbread)the turkey wings & baked chicken were the best meatsā the chicken wings they couldnāt keep on the buffet & they were just OK⦠the cheesecake was store bought & all the deserts were covered in plastic true, but it was wet from the water dripping down on them so š who wants desert?! I never even finished 1 cup of my beverage & I had an Arnold Palmer⦠the manager never apologized if he did, he didnāt do it enough bc no1 remembers him saying anything besides āyāall want to moveā. Then he asked if the food was good- I said itās just ok, nothing to make me wanna return, he asked if we were from around there as if that would make a difference! Yes! Ā Ā Ā Read moreCooperās is a soul food, southern buffet. The price per person on a Sunday is $24. That does include a drink. Now this is no golden corral or China buffet. It is a very small buffet with southern favorites, mac & cheese, cheese, collard greens, cabbage, candy, yams, smothered pork chops, pig feet, turkey wings, baked chicken, beef, liver rice. They have a cold bar with salad and potato salad, macaroni salad and then they have a fry station that has fried fish and fried chicken And shrimp. The food today was not very seasoned. Iāve gone before and the food was well seasoned, but I guess because Sundays are so Busy that The quality is Suffering. Also, thereās a long wait for the fried food. There were lines at the little buffet consistently waiting for fried chicken fried fish. Also, they ran out of steamed shrimp. I will give it a three out of five cause Iāve had better at their establishment so maybe they just had an off day. The waitress was great they make you pay As soon as you come through the door. They should ask you if you want cashback for your server, cause I ended up having to cash app my server her tip. Itās in Portsmouth not in the best part so thereās a lot of riff raff...
