Hello Sweetie Cheesecakes — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Oh my goodness! This unsuspecting lady knows how to bake a cheesecake and a cookie!!!!!! I had passed her small shop so many times while shopping at the Portsmouth, Farmers Market on High Street and was like 'hmmmm, nawwww'. But a week ago, I went to the Farmers Market and the bread pudding lady wasn't there and I really wanted some sweets. So my husband and I was like 'okay, let's just try her cookies because they're not that expensive'. BEST COOKIE I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!! We circled back and brought 2 cheesecakes because if it was anything like the cookies, we'd be super happy. WE WERE!!!! If you're downtown High Street and want a sweet treat, you've got to stop by Hello Sweetie Cheesecakes!! Yesterday was my husband's birthday and I had to go get his desserts from here.....$60 later.....I left with a box of deliciousness! He was soo happy and so were we. I really wanted to love these cheesecakes but they were very disappointing. My family and I purchased a variety of cheesecakes, 7 in total. The presentation was beautiful as well as the service but the cheesecakes themselves were sadly disappointing. Maybe I should have done my research but I was under the impression that these cheesecakes were baked. But from the taste, they simply seem to be a refrigerated no-bake recipe, which I personally wouldn't have purchased if I had known. I have no problem with no-bake recipes but I would not pay $9 -$10 for it. I could taste what seemed to be Philadelphia No Bake Original Cheesecake Filling and that is not something I would drive out of my way (which I did) to buy. This leads me to question the products quality. Also, one of my family members mentioned that their cheesecake tasted like the tin it was in, which makes me further question the freshness and if these cheesecakes are worth the price. Yes! Yes! Yes! The owner Stacy was friendly, personable and exudes the sweet charm of her shop. Cheesecakes are atypical, served in a pill shaped container with a lot of different flavors. For Portsmouth Restaurant week, you get 10% discount when you buy 3 or more cheesecakes. My friend Nicole and I got their everything cookie with butterfinger - Yummy is at another level - the cookie came out straight from the kitchen still warm and gooey. Just the most perfect of different chocolate chip and butterfinger chunks. The store is cozy and quaint with butterfly carved patio seats giving a vibe of English tea decor. Stacy also partners with The Coffee Shoppe which is a few yards quaticorner where if you retain your receipt, you get 10% discount from the other shop - what a way to partner and build patronage for Portsmouth business community!
