COVID PREVENTION & FOOD REVIEW: How does this biz do in food/drink flavor, quality, customer service and preventing Covid spread? Read on to find out: (Note: We are solid on our stance to slow the spread and to protect our high risk family, healthcare and community members. The cdc.gov website states that the virus resulting in Covid is transmitted by respiratory droplets, and masks greatly reduce the transmission of respiratory droplets from a person's nose and mouth. (Clear face shield do not, the droplets blow around them and onto surfaces/materials/foods etc. You can see this when your breath freezes and blows around). From that, we measure if PPE and cleaning items are used, how often we observe it etc. We also measure how good the food is per visit, as well as on average, and their level of customer service. ) *REVIEW: COVID PREVENTION: 1) On multiple occasions, did you observe Jitterz employees wearing proper face masks? Yes and no, some ladies wear a face mask, but some ladies at multiple locations on Prairie ave, government ave, Seltice and Pleasantview Dr. wear clear face shields. 2) Did you observe employees wearing the mask over their nose and mouth? Yes and no, the employees wearing a proper mask covered both nose and mouth, however those wearing face shields aren't stopping the transmission of respiratory droplets blowing around the face shield. 3) Did you observe employees wearing masks on the their chins? No, none of the employees wore face shields on their chin. 4) Did you observe employees in the room where food is prepared while not wearing a mask? Yes, while at the Prairie location in July 2020 two employees were not wearing masks until customers came up. One had just arrived to work but didn't put on mask until they were in and talking to other employees, one didn't have any mask on while walking around, talking, until customers pulled up to drive through, they greeted customer and talked to customer while they slowly put on a clear face shield. *FOOD/DRINK QUALITY: 1) Did the food/drink item look appealing, not messy or spilling? Yes, Jitterz has always been great at their presentation and cleanliness of the cups and sleeves. I've never had any spill or stickiness on the cup or sleeve before I receive it. 2) Is the food/drink item the correct temperature? Yes and no. All items are always freshly prepared. Cold items are always cold and not melted like they had been sitting. Hot items are usually great, however on Prairie Ave hot items for children should be cooled with a bit of cold water. One of the family had me try their child's hot cocoa which burned my mouth. It happened on two of the four visits. 3) Does the food/drink taste good, was it made well? YES! Every single time we have ever gone to Jitterz, the drinks and food are AMAZING and taste delicious! I have absolutely no complaints about the taste and quality of their food and drinks. 4) What is the quality of food/drinks compared to other businesses of the same type? Amazing! Compared to other coffee places, Jitterz is fantastic! Drinks are always made to order and fresh, they don't use pre-blended ice or anything, the coffee shots are fresh brewed, cannot complain about the quality! *CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1) How is their Customer Service overall? Fantastic! I have to say, their employees are always SO nice, kind, it's always a great experience and usually full of nice conversation and a welcoming feeling. Particularly, Pleasantview Ave employees are some of the kindest, and when we used to visit Government Way they were very friendly. All locations have been wonderful to go to. *OVERALL:Overall, as far as food/drink quality goes, 5/5, customer service 5/5, but Covid 2/5 the reason my whole family and extended family hasn't gone to Jitterz since last year is some employees were wearing face shields and since asymptomatic people with no symptoms can carry and spread Covid without knowing it, we have to protect our high risk family and community members, as well as healthcare/essential workers and all of our community...
Read moreI got a 20 oz. mocha granita this morning and paid with a $100 bill. The coffee was great, and the staff was fairly friendly. The reason for my 2 stars is that I was handed my change all folded up and told it was $94 and some change, and I tipped $3 - being in a hurry, I didn’t count the change assuming they would’ve handed me the correct amount since it was such a large amount. To my surprise, when I later counted the change I only received $71 ($94 - $3 tip = $91) - so I ended up paying almost $30 for a coffee!! I was not handed a receipt so I could later go back and try to dispute it and get my missing $20. That being said, the service was great and the coffee was delicious, but I would recommend always counting your change since they either dont have a system to keep track of cash transactions and change owed, and don’t seem to hold themselves accountable for it by not providing you with a receipt for the transaction. I’m pretty understanding having worked in the service industry myself, and I know mistakes happen, so usually I wouldn’t be so upset over something like this, but that’s a lot of money to pay for a single 20 oz. coffee. This is why a lot of places require that you count the change out for the customer or give them a receipt! I would highly recommend a change in how cash transactions are...

Jitterz isn’t just a coffee stand, it’s a roadside altar where you barter a few crumpled bills for something close to transcendence. I ordered the caramel granita, and I swear it was nectar worthy of Olympus. Cold, smooth, decadent, but never cheap or hollow. It held its shape against the sun, refused to melt into watery despair, and most importantly, let the coffee sing through the caramel instead of drowning under it. That’s rare. That’s respect for the bean.
My wife went with the iced vanilla latte. Usually, that’s the safe, forgettable pick, the cinematic equivalent of background extras. But here? It was her showstopper. Sweet, but not saccharine. Balanced. Alive. She said it was the best she’s ever had, and I believe her. Watching her sip it was like watching someone discover their favorite record for the first time.
Most coffee stands are assembly lines; anonymous, forgettable, caffeine as commodity. Jitterz is different. It’s a performance. A reminder that in the small rituals of daily survival; plastic cups, sugar, ice, you can still stumble into something damn near divine.
