This was my daughter's birthday... our experience was ruined by the really poor service... the waitress walked around with a "deer in the headlights" look... she didn't introduce herself so I don't know her name but she and a man.. probably the owner or manager were the only 2 there... he walked around to talk to every table to see how their experience was, EXCEPT ours, which also upset my daughter.... back to the waitress... she barely spoke, not personable at all, even though my son-in-law spoke to her in Spanish... she didn't clear a single dish, even when we piled them up on the empty table next to us... she came back to the table twice to verify a simple drink order, she never came back during the meal to ask for additional drinks, we had to flag her down.... even though there were only 2 tables filled in the entire place for a long time... it took over an hour to even get our food and mine came out smothered in sauce.... which I specifically asked to NOT have... then when it was given back to the girl, a new one magically came out in less than 10 minutes and was cold, tasteless and generic food at best... everyone else's food looked great and was satisfactory to my daughter, but mine , not so much... this meal cost over 250.00... the food(except for mine) was acceptable... the service was sooooooo unacceptable and with at least 10 other similar restaurants around, there is NO reason to ever return here..... if you were even thinking about going, save your irritation and go down the street to...
Read moreFound this place while searching through Google Maps looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant in my area. With that said: El Volcan exceeded my expectations and the many online 5-Star reviews of this place are very well-deserved. 👌🏼💯 Ordered the Chicken Burrito and Tortilla soup. Now I’ll admit, I was surprised by the size of the burrito and even more so by the fact I was able to finish both dishes. Both of which were really good. Makes me even more relieved that I stopped in on an empty stomach 😅
The overall vibes, decor, and music were very pleasant and truly showcase the pride the owner Jose holds regarding his heritage, tradition, and culture. (Which I admire and respect a lot.) The service was flawless and the wait-time was not very long at all. I will definitely be coming here again someday with some friends and trying some other dishes out.
Truly the BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had and one of the best restaurants in...
Read moreI would describe this place as Mediterranean Mexico. The vibe definitely wasn’t Mexican. There was what I would describe as Mexican club music playing in the background. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa. We said yes and asked for table side guacamole. The didn’t offer that only prepared guac, which was delicious. The salsa was weird. It reminded me of marinara - maybe cooked or out of a jar. It was ok but not what I expected. Also they charge for the chips and salsa which are normally complimentary in my experience. We both ordered spicy margaritas. One arrived mulled with pieces of jalapeno evident at the bottom of the glass the other one had a piece of jalapeno floating in the glass. The shrimp tacos we both ordered were good. Service was ok, the place was clean as was...
