Read through the menu and was very excited to give this a try. I hate to give such a bad review for a place.
Walked into a modern beautifully designed restaurant and sitting areas, with a nice bar, and history of the building showing through with brick and wood tastefully.
Ordered a Lobster roll, sundried tomato chicken pasta, crab dip, and charcuterie board.
Pros- the restaurant is a beautiful and great fit for a romantic evening out with significant other. The drinks look skillfully made, bar is nice, overall It's quiet, and feels like you're far away from the hustle and bustle of a city. The bread on the crab dip was really good,
The cons- the food is not that great. When I go to a place like this I expect to receive a meal I couldn't prepare at the same level at home, but that didn't happen here. The Lobster roll was OK, but lots of mayo, the pasta was supposedly sundried tomato chicken and sauce, had no sundried tomato flavor at all. Very heavy handed on the cream sauce, instead of being lathered, it was bathed and soaking in this heavy cream nightmare. The chicken was good, but there was really no depth of flavors, no story to write about. Lastly, the charcuterie board.. I mean, just look at the pictures I posted. At $18, you expect some exotic meats and cheese, this should be called some meat and cheese, save the enticing name of "charcuterie board" for something else. The meat was lacking in real flavor, had some that were just tasteless until I added the cheese. Overall, just could've been better and for the cost, would've had a nicer presentation and more flavor from a grocery store. crab dip was full of fillers, lots of imitation taste and left me feeling quite disappointed.
All in all, I gave it a 2 star based on food. A 3 star to me is an average place, nothing remarkable, you get 3. This, the place was perfect, and I really wanted to love it, but the food fell flat of...
Read moreThis was my second time coming to Crimson house, and I was super excited to bring my fiancé since my first experience was excellent. Before getting into nursing I was in the restaurant industry for 8 years between serving and managing and never enjoy giving a bad review, but the lack of professionalism and service at this place was super disappointing. We arrived on a Friday night around 7:15 pm and waited quite some time before even being greeted by a server. Tack on another 20 minutes for us to receive our drinks. We had friends meeting us and ended up being a party of 4. After ordering 3 apps, and 4 entrees, we only received some of our food. After finishing our apps we patiently waited around for our main courses. After almost an hour of nothing our server came up to us asking if we’d like our check, not even acknowledging we never received our 4 main course dishes. When we asked where our dinners were, she blamed it on other staff. At that point we were fed up and just wanted to cancel our order and leave after being there a total of 2 hours and not even receiving our food. I asked to speak to someone in charge and was approached by “the owner” who offered no apology or any desire really to understand the situation. We waited again for another 15 mins hoping any kind of staff to come back and give us an update and received nothing, we had to hunt the owner back down ourselves. He blamed the lack of service on being short staffed. I fully understand that and sympathize with it, but if that’s the case you should not be overloading your servers with more tables than they can promptly manage. The service was horrible, the food was mediocre, and the owner himself was extremely unprofessional. I will never go here again nor will I ever recommend this...
Read moreFound this place on Google. Ordered for takeout the lobster roll and steak salad.
Not sure which I disliked more.
Steak salad- they didn’t have steak but offered to switch to chicken. I said sure. And add chimichurri sauce. I never received the chimichurri sauce. Then there was the chicken- it looked and tasted like it came out of a giant precooked chicken from Gordon’s food service or Costco or something. Like something I would have bought in college when I thought that the fresh family packs of fresh chicken were too expensive. The rest of the toppings of the “steak salad” were fine I guess.
Lobster roll with fries- I should have known better-the lobster tasted like it was cut with canned tuna or something. Portion was small. The bottom was full of white liquid which I assume was from the lobster roll. The bottom of the bun was soaked. The bun itself was a hotdog bun. The French fries were cold and mushy.
Was told 25 minutes wait time on the phone. I walked over to pick up the food and waited an extra few minutes for it to be ready. Somehow everything was cold and mushy. I don’t really understand how that’s possible since I had to wait in the bar for the food to be done.
Probably should have taken it all back but we have been on the road for about 8 hours today and we were hungry and tired.
People there seemed really nice. Wasn’t too busy on a Monday. Maybe 4 or 6 other people there at the time.
If it was free food I wouldn’t be complaining. My total was 41 dollars. Normally wouldn’t tip on a takeout order but iPad asked me to tip. Hopefully it went to the nice servers and...
