I took my family, which includes 13, on a long but fun day of site seeing around the Verde and Prescott Valley. We love Firehouse Subs (and Firemen and Women) and chose it over many other options available in Prescott Valley. We spent 10 minutes, before entering, to discuss what everyone wanted so my wife could simply run in and present the order in a calm/orderly fashion. The plan was to bring the food back to the van so we could continue home from the road trip.
My wife walked into this franchise with the prepared order and the Firehouse Subs folks there completely denied service multiple times.
First, it was said "this is a catering order and needs to be sent in 24 hours in advance." She politely informed them of the situation and number of hungry children waiting to be fed.
Then they claimed "we cannot prepare this order because we will run out of meat." We ignorantly thought they were in the business of selling meat; however, this appeared to not be true. They ultimately denied a $140 order and clearly only wanted to make sales at a time convenient for them.
We felt discriminated against: "We only sell sandwiches to small families."
Next, tensions rose, rudeness increased between parties, and then unprofessional-ism and even hanger set it. My wife let them have it and abruptly left the institution.
If they truly would have ran of meat, this is a sad tale for Firehouse Subs Prescott Valley. You do not have the ability to feed 11 children and 2 adults? Sad... perhaps, you should seek out a better management staff and be prepared for the hordes of people who desire to come here.
My kids suggested protesting, rioting, toppling statues, and burning the place to the ground. We raise them better than that and suggested we move on to the next closest place... Wendy's.
Wendy's, will be getting a 5 -star review for the following reasons:
They took our order and received payment for $95 in less than 2 minutes. They had food in our vehicle in less than 5 minutes. They cared about our Firehouse Story and threw in some extra food to make our trip a little more enjoyable.
QUESTION? Well, why not 2 star rating for Firehouse Subs? ANSWER: Well, it would have required them not wasting our time, some politeness, and/or offering some kind of other solution or suggestion. They completely denied us service and we were required to leave. How about if my wife would have ordered half and I ordered half? Would that have worked? Why would they earn 2 stars? For just being an option that is open? Not good enough.
SUMMARY: If you have a large hungry family, do not come here. They will deny you service and feed you to your starving children and leave you to fend for yourself which will ultimately resort in praising Wendy's...Wendy's. Go...
Read moreI waited to post this to see if Firehouse would resolve my complaint from my visit to the Prescott Valley Location on 05/17/2022 at 10:05 am.
Background: I run a WILDLAND FIRE Crew of 21 hard working Firefighters. We often go to local establishments in sometimes remote locations and order food for our crew. While we understand it’s a large ask to make food for 21 people. We never have problems with this. I would also state that we have been to this EXACT location as recently as February, without issue. I have walked into the Buckeye Location twice, and also the Yuma Location, all very helpful and no issues.
I walked in and approached the register, and asked if I could get 21 medium sandwiches, I generally start this conversation with “I have 21 Hungry Firefighters” (21 of the exact same sandwich mind you) I said I can come back and get them in an hour if needed. I was rudely told that “I can’t make you 21 sandwiches without 24 hour notice”. ??? I let her know that I have done this many times without issue. I asked, “if I brought my 21 firefighters into this restaurant would you just turn us away?” (Unfortunately my crew was about 30 minutes away actively fighting a wildfire) and was met with a “well what time do you need them by” … this is when I decided that FIREHOUSE subs doesn’t want to make Hundreds of dollars of business serving the people they claim to support, There has been countless times I have “rounded up to support first responders” … but you’ll turn away business from the people you claim to support. I submitted my concerns with this issue to the local management and have yet to receive a reply. I’m not looking for any hand outs I’m just trying to let people know that this location specifically, doesn’t support Firemen as they claim that they do.
I went further into town to Jersey Mike’s and was greeted with a smile and 21 sandwiches and an unasked for discount. THANKS JERSEY MIKE’S!
Firehouse, I don’t know that my crew will ever be back after spending thousands of dollars with...
