The food was ok. Portions were small. Pho was good. Apps were just ok. Found a chunk of plastic wrapper in our cream cheese rangoons. Yuck! Bahn Mi sandwich was flavorful but mostly bread. Service was kind but SLOW. I placed a take out order and waited an hour for it. It came out warm. Had to reheat everything when I got home... I live 2 blocks away. I feel bad for them because they are in such high demand being the new place and they are all older(50s and 60s). They've got a lot that needs improving if they're gonna last. One of the servers brought her granddaughter (or great grand daughter) to work with her to babysit. She was probably 2yrs old and was following her around with a bottle in her mouth whining and pulling on her apron while she cleared tables. Later I heard her in the adjoining room up from crying. Very inappropriate for a restaurant setting and she could get hurt. Also, had to use the facilities while there and walked past their prep room. I really HOPE they were done prepping for the day because their meat slicer had bits of raw meat all over it. Not cleaned or anything. If that was sitting out for more than 10 mins, and then used again.... HUGE health hazard. Given the plastic wrapper I found in my deep fried wonton, I don't think they've got good practices at...
Read moreSo we came in and were sat down by a girl who didn't hand us a menu and walked off. We had to ask her for a menu, as did the table that came behind us. We waited 45 minutes before our order was taken, and all the tables that came in after us had their orders taken first. We waited while all the other tables that came after us got food, and it seemed like a lot of the orders were being messed up, mixed up, and sent to the wrong tables. The appetizer from our order was sent to another table, then taken back to the kitchen, then sent out to us. After having our appetizer for 20 minutes we got a single bowl of Pho we didn't order, when we ordered two bowls of a different kind. We decided to leave after being there for an hour and 20 minutes after we only got our appetizer.
I really love Pho, and I really want this place to succeed, and I can't give an honest review of their food because we only got an appetizer by the time we left. The tables around us seemed to greatly enjoy their food(and we liked the appetizer we got) It just seems like they need to get better organized at how they take orders and take them to tables, but as they just opened we can forgive them, we will probably try again in a month to give them time to get situated and organize their staff more...
Read moreMy wife and I were really excited to try the new Pho noodle shop as it's one of our favorite foods. We got there around noon on a week day and the place was almost full. We ordered and waited in anticipation. The waiter in training was pleasant and brought us water, even offered to carbonate it! We asked for a couple of limes to drop in the water. Never showed. There was a noticeable confusion about who was supposed to cover our table but the three servers were checking in on us. When my wife's food arrived it looked and smelled delicious. My meal arrived about two minutes later and unfortunately wasn't what i asked for. sigh, They took it back and I got my order about 10 minutes later and they also forgot the thai ice teas we ordered. bigger sigh. When I started eating my food I noticed it didn't have the meat balls that were supposed to be included. It was very good however and I was happy. I know it's a new restaurant and having waited tables myself for many years new restaurants need some time to work out the bugs and the servers were inexperienced. I hope the learning curve is steep and they get up to speed quickly as the food is great and i want them to succeed. ...
