  1. The Cannoli French Toast was one of my favorites. If I was just eating that it would get a little boring by the end but to share with the table it was really good. The cream is between two pieces of Texas French toast. The cannoli on top was a little blah (the cream was good the shell was blah). There is enough cream between the two pieces of toast to make it very enjoyable.
  2. The breakfast burrito wads another of my favorites. The potatoes in it were really good. The chorizo and peppers/onions were nice. I would prefer a little more cream on top but overall it was very well done. It was very large as well. It would be nice to have the tortilla fried but it was a nice soft tortilla. 3)The Monte Cristo was very nice. Two pieces of Texas toast cooked well. The filling was very thin, but the cheese made the sandwich. So smooth and creamy. The sauce it came with was interesting, not bad but I didn't love it with the sandwich. The hash browns were absolutely awful. 🤮 They tasted like cardboard even with ketchup and Cholula.
  3. The breakfast sandwich was kind of blah. I asked for the arugula on the side and they just let the arugula fall off the sandwich with the aoli and top bun attached to it. When I asked for extra aoli because mine fell off with the arugula they charged me $1.50. The aoli made the sandwich but it wasn't worth $1.50 to replace what they did wrong.
  4. The Nutella Waffle was just ok. The waffle was dry and there was nothing awe-inspiring about it.
  5. The waitress was very friendly, we sat pretty quickly, and food didn't take long. We weren't offered refills on our water but I was offered 3 times to refill my coffee. I am sad there was no more sweet potato hash. The parking is very tight.

Overall, I would come back for the Cannoli French Toast, the Breakfast Burrito, and the...

As my wife and I are big fans of Cia Bella, we decided to go to Salt and Pepper for breakfast today.

What a treat, we were greeting and sat by Leon. Nora our waitress came right over to see what we wanted to drink. We looked at the menus and my wife opted for the veggie omelet while I ordered the carnitas hash. Nora was very attentive and answered all of the questions about the food and preparation. When I asked if we could just get a side of the French toast, she suggested a ½ order so we could try it without so much extra food. I’m and big hash guy and this was fantastic, perfect eggs, super tender carnitas and a great green sauce mixed in with peppers and onions. My wife said that her omelet was one of the best she has ever tasted.

We also tried the Sriracha bacon and a piece of the brioche French toast. Both were great. All I can say is Salt and Pepper is a great place and will be added to the rotation. Of course we love Leon’s other restaurant, Ciao Bella in Prescott Valley, always good and you won’t leave either place hungry. I brought home enough food for...

Ever since arriving in Prescott I’ve been on a quest to find the best huevos rancheros within walking distance of Courthouse Square. These were the best so far, by far.

The eggs were cooked as asked. The texture of the crunchy tortillas contrasted nicely with the refritos frijoles and the oozing egg yolks. The grated cotija added salt and the crema and avocado were nice textural additions, not just decoration; the plentiful serving of salsa verde had a very nice heat - so no need to add any seasonings. (But if you do, Tabasco appears to be the default hot sauce. Ask for Cholula, it will be a better choice for this dish.)

Coffee was better than I had expected walking in, so that was a bonus. The greeting was warm and genuine and the service was top notch.

I did not have, but the bacon side smelled heavenly and looked just as nice. In fact, all the dishes looked very appealing. (I sat at the counter.)

This is now going to be my regular Sunday breakfast spot. A good value all around.

And check out the Mimosa flight. I tend not to drink at breakfast when I am on my own but I...

I’ve heard positive things about Salt and Pepper, so I stopped by between appointments for breakfast. The place was about 50% full. Being hungry and a fan of Mexican food, I ordered their breakfast burrito topped with an egg cooked to order. What arrived at the table was a beautiful and sizable burro topped with both red and green sauce. I sampled both sauces, and both were tasty. They cooked the egg perfectly. But that’s where things took a turn for the worse. The stuffing had barely any chorizo, and what little was there was dry, overcooked, or burned. The potatoes were bone dry as well. As a retired chef, I think that if you’re charging $14 for a burrito, it must be perfect. That being said, I like the menu offerings, and I know everyone has an off-day now and then. Given the consistently high ratings, I believe this probably is the exception to what is likely the typical case. So, I will come back another day, and try again as I believe it is important supporting local businesses.
