On a beautiful, warm spring day, after touring the Princeton campus to check out the sakura blooms, I wanted to grab a vegetarian quick bite, but I wanted something healthy. Thankfully, I spied Alfalfa, a great place to grab a healthy salad bowl. I ordered their seasonal special, which was their Forbidden Salmon Market Plate. I was a bit disappointed with their serving size and felt the salmon was a bit overdone. I could deal with the bowl being smaller than their regular salad menu, but paying an extra $6 for a smaller bowl stung a little. Their service was excellent, though, so I just chalked it up to being a very busy time.
I've eaten here before and can attest, their food is very good. Sometimes, we just have a miss.

Read moreAbsolutely love Alfalfa – and Jay makes it even better!
Every time I visit Alfalfa, the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. But what really sets this place apart is the people – especially Jay, who is without a doubt one of the most genuine and caring individuals I’ve ever encountered at any restaurant.
Jay goes above and beyond to make every customer feel welcomed and seen. Whether it’s remembering your order, offering helpful recommendations, or simply checking in with a warm smile, he truly brings heart to the Alfalfa experience. You can tell he deeply cares about both the food and the community.
It’s rare to find someone who treats every guest like family, and Jay does just that. If you stop by, I hope you get to meet him – it’ll make your day.
Highly recommend this spot, not just for the delicious food, but for the people like Jay who make it...
Read moreThis will be a hit for sure! Excellent, patient service at the register while we asked a million questions and vacillated between orders. Sasha, the head chef, Kayla and Kimberly were so awesome and welcoming- we will be back- can’t wait! The food (Ancho Potato Breakfast Burrito and Make Your Own Salad and a side of Buffalo Cauliflower) was excellent, fresh, and made with care. The ambiance is serene and sparkling clean with light pink seating, white design accents, and minimalistic design. There are many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. We also tried the gluten free carrot cake which was heavenly! Such a fantastic addition to Nassau Street.
