I loved eating here with my mom when I was a kid. Just the memories alone had me drive down an hour and a half from north jersey. It was my first time returning to Princeton after coming back to the states, so I didn't even bother reading the google reviews. I'm putting this lightly when I say that I was thoroughly disappointed. Not only did our reservation get pushed back an hour because the manager "wrote down the wrong number," but the hosts working in the front were disorganized and untrained: trying to seat the two of us at a six person table, sending me a "reservation ready" notification only to ask why we came, etc. Granted, they're young and learning on the job is just a part of any experience but to be charging customers +$100 for a two person meal with that level of service is inexcusable. The waitress was also kind but extremely inattentive. As for the food, we ordered two peach based cocktails, calamari, vongole pasta, and a pancetta pizza. The only thing we enjoyed were the cocktails. The calamari was clearly a frozen product with a generic marinara sauce (one of the calamari was left inside of the sauce upon service) , the vongole pasta was so salty that we could only mange the clams, and the pizza was a plate of unequally distributed heaps of oily meat. I have never done this before, but we actually left during our meal and went to the Bent Spoon for ice cream before going out to a different Italian restaurant for dinner (I don't want to write where for the sake of integrity but just do a google search if you're wondering). If you're thinking about dining here, please read through the reviews before making a reservation. Until the managerial staff take the quality of the service seriously, this restaurant will not be the meaningful dining experience you are hoping for in Princeton.

Update: used to be one of our favorite places. Now the service is terrible and not worth it. Good food with declining service - the first few times we came here we had phenomenal service, but in the past few visits very subpar service. Guess it depends on who's working. I've been coming here for years; from my recollections, I believe the lunch menu prices have risen in the past few years. Anyways, a few gems include the penne all'arrabbiata and mezze rigatoni balsamico, which is the favorite of many a family member. A recent visit left me a bit dumbfounded, as the waitress didn't seem to take into account a dietary restriction of a family member; I encourage the managers of Teresa Caffe to train new employees in dealing amicably with customers with dietary restrictions, as that will likely improve first-timers' impressions of the place and staff. The waitress was nice and probably meant well, but was also not attentive - I had to ask for bread and olive oil three times before she brought it for the first time - and with no olive oil. The second time we requested bread, it took an additional 15 minutes. We used to really like coming to Teresa Caffe for lunch, but it gets less and less enjoyable each time we receive terrible service.

Went canoeing with my buddies for a few hours and then hit town for some grub. The place we wanted to check out was closed so Teresa’s was our backup. The best thing about here was the wine. We shared a bottle of a Piedmont varietal and it was lovely on a sunny afternoon outside of the restaurant. From there it was a downhill excursion. It was our server’s second day on the job and she didn’t know how to open the bottle so we had to show her how to use a wine opener. We ordered an app of calamari to share and it was gummy, but even worse is that one of my friend’s entrees was served even before the app arrived, off timed. The pizza here is overhyped, it wasn’t the worst but I’ve easily had better. Nothing stood out, not the dough, the sauce or the mutz. If I can’t taste sourdough action or a few charred spots I’m not impressed with a basic crust. I need that zing and this small pie didn’t have it. Plus they don’t have Tabasco here (or any hot sauce whatsoever) so I was extra extra irritated. I can’t enjoy a meal without it. What made it all better? Huge scoops of ice cream on a sugar cone around the corner at Bent Spoon.

I used to like this place. My daughter and I just took my wife there for Mother's Day...it was quite a disappointment. We had reservations for Mother's Day brunch - no acknowledgement for my wife when we arrived, even though the place was suspiciously half empty when we got there (almost noon) and they could have taken a moment to acknowledge her - they used to be super busy on Mother's Day. This should have been a sign for us.

While the hostess was pleasant, the wait staff were suspiciously, in manner and dress, similar to the guys who mow lawns in the area: no discussion of specials, no "happy mother's day". Leaning on the back of another chair while talking to us - I'm generally not snooty, but this was not at all what I'd expect in Princeton, and at these prices. My daughter ordered a latte, and was told, "no soy or any other milk except 2%", and "no caramel!". For perspective, remember that this is only 2 blocks from both Starbucks and Small World Coffee (one of THE best coffee shops and roasters). She opted out. My wife and I chanced it, and the lattes that arrived were pretty bad: my wife was able to drink hers with sugar added - I couldn't drink mine.

The food was just OK. The French toast was good. The egg with quinoa was bland - and there was no salt or pepper anywhere in sight, on our table or any other that we could see, and our waiter was nowhere to be found. The frittata was fair - somewhat bland, and too watery / runny.

After serving us, our waiter never returned to ask if we liked our meal or if we needed anything. No further contact until it was time to pay. Even then, no curiosity about whether we enjoyed our meal - just, "can I get you anything else?".

On our way out, the hostess, seemingly the only one there motivated to even pretend to care, wished my wife a happy Mother's Day.

Truly a lackluster experience that cost us over $50, plus parking. Too many other good options available to go here again. Disappointed to see Teresa's having fallen so far from their former excellence. But I don't...

I have lived in Princeton my entire life and love the restaurants here. However, this place has always given me a snobby vibe - I've even worked for the Terra Momo company and love their restaurants, but not this one. It was my friend's birthday, and we walked in with my friends and was greeted with a glares by the two hostess. When I let them know I made a reservation, I overheard the hostess telling the other to give us "that" table - apparently it was the noisy one next to the kitchen and bathroom. I normally wouldn't have minded this if it were busy, but there were very few people there and a lot more tables that we could have sat at. Then, we waited ten minutes before our waitress even greeted us. I apologetically asked if we could move and she gave me a dirty look, gave me sass and fought me about it - she left angry and then the hostess came five minutes afterwards and passive aggressively made us watch her fix our menus as she angrily looked at us for a minute. Mind you, fifteen minutes have passed and we didn't even receive water. My friend, who has been a waiter, was so put off by their unprofessional behavior that she decided to go elsewhere (Winberries is great!). Overall, I will not come back and will remind others about my experience - do not...
