I have been to Winberieâs, many times.. enough times to be comfortable to bring my best friend who was visiting from upstate New York with her husband and her eight month old baby. It was a Monday afternoon my friend wanted to get a quick bite to eat before they hit the road back to upstate New York. I said OK letâs go to Winberieâs.. we walked in the restaurant.. it was fairly empty. A handful of people at the bar, 4 tops, and very few people in the regular seating area. The hostess asks us if our stroller can close, of course the stroller can close, however, we did not want to close it. The baby was more comfortable in her stroller while we enjoyed our meal. The hostess explained that the stroller was a fire hazard, and that we would have to sit at the bar. We went to the bar as she tried to seat us.. as the person who was hosting my friends, I said absolutely not. This is uncomfortable and weird. A baby at the bar, very uncomfortable seating, I even pointed out an area that we couldâve easily just parked the stroller and eight next to her. The gentleman at the bar even made a comment to the hostess and suggested some thing, and she repeated it was a fire hazard and that it could not be done. My friends with theyâre new baby, repeat it itâs OK itâs OK, it was not OK. Iâm looking at so many places where we couldâve sat and not have been an obstruction to anything. She explained those places were closed. We left and we went to the Witherspoon Grill. We sat at a VERY comfortable table and enjoyed lunch without any issues of having a baby or a stroller or a âfire hazardâ The Witherspoon Grill was very busy the outdoor Seating was nearly filled, and the inside was also pretty packed. But again we had a very comfortable, friendly, pleasant experience in fact, the waiters/ hosts that worked for the restaurant would come by and smile at our baby. There was actually another baby a few tables down. Thankfully, we ate lunch at a place with more light and a happier staff and...
Read moreThe service was wonderful and True made the experience a lovely one; the food was subpar but the worst was there were flies buzzing all around our food and drink and two landed in my husbandâs beer. No replacement beer was offered and it was a nonstop nuisance to swat the numerous flies away. It was also very loud and conversation was impossible to have, which was so frustrating because we were meeting with a friend who I hadnât seen in 17 years and this reunion was an important one.
Edit: I am modifying my review to include how kind Winberieâs has been in rectifying the issues Iâve raised in my review and plan to write a further review in the future. After posting this review, the manager at Winberieâs was prompt to respond and provided me his contact information so we could communicate further. He confirmed that pest control would be in early in the week to address the fruit fly issue and asked what dishes we got and what the issues were so he could implement our feedback in the future. He also generously invited us back to Winberieâs so we could perhaps have a more enjoyable experience. This highlights their professionalism and commitment to customer service. We also understand that every business may have an âoffâ day so we look forward to going back to Winberieâs once the fly situation is remedied and will leave a further review following same. I think their service, across the board, is a 10/10 and appreciate their generous...
Read moreIâve come here a few times and we decided to make a reservation for Fatherâs Day because the food is normally very good. This was a reservation for the restaurant. When we arrived the host looked annoyed that we brought a stroller and told us that we needed to move it. This was fine but the entrance didnât really provide room to put the stroller anywhere as it was a challenge even making it past the door. When we confirmed our reservation and asked about being able to sit, he told us we couldnât sit anywhere in the restaurant with the stroller. He also mentioned the tables in the restaurant side were all full (never mind that we made a reservation ahead of time). Unfortunately, dinner wouldnât be an enjoyable experience having an 8-month old sitting on your lap and grabbing food. Although it wasnât clear if there was a high chair available and he didnât offer one, I do acknowledge that we also forgot to ask. The whole situation was stressful as we were trying to figure out where we would eat now with no reservation and our car parked 15 minutes away. I remember there was outside seating available but he didnât mention that. This was my first time coming here with my daughter but after that experience I wouldnât return as I didnât get the impression that it was a family friendly environment. At least we werenât given a lot of options that would have made it easier for us to eat there, despite making a reservation and it being...
