Yummi Japan — Restaurant in Princeton

Wow! Wasn't expecting the sushi to be so well presented and huge. To go style sushi comes in a disposable bento box style container with a generous amount of soy, pickled ginger, and wasabi. Nice menu selection posted on wall with pictures and descriptions so you can decide while waiting in line. Cashier was fast and courteous. I didn't stay and watch my food get prepared, but the hibachi grill is directly behind the check out counter so if you want to do so I guess you can. However, I believe the sushi is prepared in the back. Environment is nice, kinda has more of a sports bar feel than a Japanese restaurant but this is Princeton. Now the main reason I gave five stars is the size of the sushi and the price. $4.99 for six pieces of shrimp tempura. Four regular shaped round pieces and two sashimi shaped pieces. Economically good. The portion was large and price was cheap. That could be why food quality was substandard. I was disappointed because a lot of reviews said the food was good. It is my opinion of what I ate, not of the whole menu. I only tried what was supposed to be teriyaki chicken that comes with vegetables and fried rice. No teriyaki was actually used, only soy sauce which I don't like, which made it not taste good to my personal pallette. The only reason I was able to eat it was the yum yum sauce that came on side. and the fact I was extremely hungry. The main problem was too much sauce was used. It made the rice soggy, Fried rice should never be that consistency. The chicken and vegetables were cooked nicely though. If teriyaki sauce was actually used Id probably like it better. Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5 - ordered a Shrimp Yakisoba to go. Yakisoba is a noodle stir-fried dish so it was quite odd to see all the ingredients separate in our container. None of the items were grilled/cooked enough and the sauce is just drizzled on top so it wasn't incorporated.

Service: 5/5 - very friendly cashier that was speedy. It was odd since the cooks stop what they're doing and stare back when we tried to watch them cook. But after getting the food, we can understand why since they probably didn't know how to cook.
