Smoke and Dagger BBQ — Restaurant in Princeton

I've taken a few days to gather my thoughts, and the TLDR is the place is pretty meh. I have no plans to return. The inside of the resturant was very hot, I'm not sure there was an air con at all, it felt as hot in the seating area as it does in a resturant kitchen. Looking forward to being refreshed from the heat, I eagerly went to the soda fountain only to discover there was no diet, only zero Pepsi, which tastes nothing like diet and is not a substitute. Who ever heard of a resturant that doesn't serve regular and diet Pepsi before all other soda's? The bbq sauce itself was decent, but for a dedicated small buissness bbq resturant, it did not taste distinctive from any other bbq place; Applebee's sauce is equivalent if not slightly better. The bbq place that was in this location before's sauce? I kept my house stocked with it and always made my Christmas ribs with it. The service was friendly, but although they gave me extra boneless wings, it was awhile of sitting there before they realized they hadn't even put my food order into the kitchen. Altogether, I left filled, but disappointed. The place they replaced had good sauce, but otherwise had gone downhill and I was hopeful a new bbq place would do wonders for the community, but alas, I write this while ordering boneless wings at...

Okay. So they know how to do really good BBQ. The staff has always been welcoming at either of their establishments. Are some people not happy? If you know REAL BBQ, this is legit. Forget what you know. There was just one issue. They were in a soft opening, and the potato salad was, um, not right, I guess. But the Mac and cheese is good. I prefer more mayo than vinegar in my slaw, but I have tried both.. I actually prefer their red slaw! Note..sometimes you will get those crispy pieces of brisket and ooh man. Yum. The sauces are good, but I wish they gave you more than a little cup. The bathrooms have been clean each time we go. The music is particular and modern enough to where it should appeal to most. I'm very very disappointed with this place. I'll never go back again. We bought 2 Brisket platters at a price of 10.99 and the proportions were very very small. Out of the Brisket I had like 4 bites and that was all I wish I could share a picture of it. The cups they use for the sides are like one ounce. I never got full off it I had to stop somewhere else and get something else and I'm a very small person and I know if I didn't get full a very large person wouldn't. It was a pick-up order maybe if we would have went in and ate it would have been better. But I don't plan to ever go back I'll cook my own...
