At my wife's request, we drove over 40 miles to this place so that she could go in and look around. When we arrived, we were met by whom I would assume was the manager who was policing the front door to make sure we had masks in place before we could enter. Not being from the area, we had no idea that the local health department created their own mask "mandate" for the stores in the Mercer county area.
Apparently, in many of the other stores that we had visited that day, a majority of the customers within the stores we went into were not wearing masks and even though the good people behind the registers had no choice but to wear theirs, they were not attempting to enforce politics on the customers. However that was not the case with the manager of this Factory Connection.
We were not met with a customer service style greeting, but with a flat-toned, "Do you have a mask?" Luckily, we had a few in my wife's purse and complied with the woman. There was no, "Welcome to Factory Connection, or even a simple, "Hello" with a civil introduction to the policy. However this was cordial with how the woman addressed a younger couple who had entered without masks, to which the woman addressed them in an embarrassing manner from across the room instead of approaching them in a professional manner. This in turn made the young couple turn around and leave. And just a moment later, we in turn left as well without making a purchase.
My advise to the owners of the franchise; if you want to keep a profit margin in that area, train your employees to be a bit more customer friendly. Political pushes come and go, but customers are your company's lifeline, and with the demeanor that your customers were met with by this employee, they will go quicker than these "mandates", taking their money...
