Upon entering this rustic BNQ joint in a strip mall, there are whimsical murals of pigs, photos of blues singers and players, tables with vinyl checked red and white table cloths. You order at a stand with the menu above. I was shocked that they had no more half chicken for the day at 3pm, but not surprised that they were out of ribs until the dinner crowd. We came at an off time. I was bummed that the fountain drink machine had a flat Sierra Mist, but the cashier was quick to change when I notified her. My order was wrong, but she did correct it after conferring with the receipt and allowed us to keep the mistaken chips. The pulled chicken was juicy and delicious. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection with not a lump. I could have had three helpings of those. The toast came out already buttered, which was a nice touch. The hush puppies were sweet and came with nice honey butter. The bbq nachos were a great take on the nachos. The burger was simple but tasty. The loaded baked potato is large but delicious. The wings were tasty and tender, yet not too messy. The bathroom is one room that is equipped for a wheel-chair. However, there is no changing table or high chairs. This was...
Read moreWe were just passing through on a road trip but we'd come back just for this place. This place is real, authentic BBQ. It's a sweet little place, tons of food for your money, the food is delicious, and it's a comfortable place to hang out.
I got the pulled chicken platter with BBQ bakes beans, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, and mac and cheese. It was about $40 for 2 people.
The fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had; crispy breading, soft juicy tomatoes, and an amazing sauce with some zing to it. The chicken was shredded fine and the BBQ sauce was peppery and tangy. The beans were awesome, really great oniony flavor. The Mac and cheese was really gooey and cheesy and the hush puppies were delicious and fried to perfection.
The atmosphere is really relaxed. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. There's great old time music (that probably came from Memphis) playing overhead and there's tons of pictures on the walls of artists from Memphis. It's almost like a step back in time a few decades.
Stop in and check it out! You...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst customer service that I have experienced. All the way from the Destiny who answered the phone to Damion who said he was the GM. We tried to call and place and order from here . From the time Destiny's answer the phone and hung up on me she was very rude. When we called back and asked to speak to her boss she informed us that he was to busy to talk to me. I told her that I would wait. When he finally came on thr phone he also was extremely rude and said he did not have time to talk to me about the problem. When I asked who his boss was he first stated he didn't have one that he was the GM. I then asked again to talk to whoever his boss was. He stated that Steve was his boss but only came in for about 1 hour a month. I informed him then I would call back and try again. Damion then tried to ask what my problem was and I told him that I would speak to his boss about my issue. He then stated that he may be on the store about 2pm today and hung the phone. This is extremely uncalled for and...
