Although I have a long, impressive and ever growing list of failures in life, as of this morning, failing an Indian buffet was not on that list. Unfortunately, as of a few minutes ago, now it is. Thanks to 380. Let me explain…
I entered the restaurant super hungry and armed with my usual fierce determination when entering an Indian buffet - to leave with a full stomach! Unfortunately I quickly ran into some unexpected hurdles.
There was no vegetarian biryani or dal makhani (I’m vegetarian). However, I refused to give up and resolved to work hard.
I had plain rice from the rice cooker, yellow dal and paneer makhani. I also ordered butter naan, which was delicious - just the right balance of soft and crunchy.
However, despite my best efforts I was unable to tolerate the yellow dal and paneer makhani, even though I managed to finish what I had served myself. They were both not very good.
I went back to the buffet to look for other vegetarian options with gravy. Sadly, there were none. No raita either 😔
At this point I decided to demonstrate what the sunk cost fallacy is and ordered dal makhani off the menu.
When the dal makhani arrived and I tasted it, I struggled to control my gag reflux. However, I am a glutton for punishment and refused to give up. I fought really hard and added salt and tried dunking a few more pieces of naan into the dal, hoping either that the dal would be shamed into tasting better or that my taste buds would capitulate and lower their standards. Sadly, neither happened.
Finally, I gave up. Although I had asked for a to go box, I could not inflict this suffering on my refrigerator or trash can, so I made the prudent decision to not demonstrate the sunk cost fallacy yet again and left the dal on the table. This was very out of character for me.
I would give myself an F- for failing this Indian buffet. In my defence, I usually get an A+. I hope this will not have a long term effect on my world rankings.
Bottom line - if you are looking for a vegetarian indian buffet, please don’t go here. Try India 101 express in Plano or Mughlai in Dallas (near...
Read moreWHOA! I was running some errands and had some time to grab a bite somewhere so I decided to drop in. Never been to an Indian restaurant so I didn't know what to get. The waiter was great on helping me out.
I ordered the Chicken Chillie as an appetizer and the Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of Garlic Naan and rice. It was all absolutely delicious! I'd give it a 12 out of 10 rating if I could!
A few other notes that may be helpful. The appetizer took a bit to come out. Maybe it was what I ordered or perhaps they don't make it until you order (which i can appreciate). But when it came out... it was so worth it. It was steamy hot, did not have a "re-heated" look or taste to it, and the presentation was great. The main dish was probably 10mins after my appetizer came out. But it came out lava hot and presented in a beautiful antique bowl and it was again, absolutely delicious.
The waiter was soooooooo nice. Asked me how hot I wanted my dish; he used a 0 - 10 scale, with 10 being the hottest. I went with an 8 just in case. The 8 had a kick to it. I'd say it was more like a 5-6 but I also do well with spicy things. Going 10 next time.
They have a bunch of TV's, full bar, good audio system, and plenty of well spaced-out tables so you don't feel so crowded or sitting too close to the next table. Price was really reasonable too based on the quality of their food and portion size. What i ordered would've fed 2 people comfortably.
If I had to make a suggestion, I think having something equivalent to chips & salsa or bread/butter at the table before appetizers or drinks hit the table would help... Maybe some samples/testers of items on the menu to help those of us not familiar with the dishes???? just a thought.
Again, a fantastic lil spot. Definitely going back again soon! No...

First visit to this restaurant, even though it’s just around the corner from our house. We ordered two Chicken Tikka Masalas for pickup through DoorDash. Each came with a side of rice, but there was no option to customize or replace it. The Chicken Tikka Masala itself was quite good — flavorful and well-prepared. However, the rice on the side was a letdown: plain, slightly oily, and lacking any seasoning — not even a touch of jeera. We did notice they’re running a summer Biryani special, which looked promising. Might give that a try next time.

Picked up lunch take out today. Chicken Tikka Masala with extra butter naan.
Curry comes with Rice and they do not offer substitution’s which was a bummer.
Curry and naan were ok! Nothing great in taste and flavor of the curry!
Visit on 7/11
Went for lunch with a friend. The place smells very weird with some cleaning liquid smell .We ordered the chicken tikka masala, and the chow mein. We asked for spice levels of two on 10 and nine on 10 the food arrived after 30 minutes even though the restaurant was empty, the chicken tikka masala they said OK but the chow mein was spaghetti undercooked And tossed in onions and weirdly scrambled eggs that tasted more like coconut than eggs. The person serving was definitely overdoing the service part. We saw the person serving, clean the tables with a glass cleaner probably part of the weird smell that was in the restaurant when we walked in. If you are looking for a spicy Indian food, this is definitely not the authentic...
