Silverland Bakery — Restaurant in Proviso Township

I don't usually write reviews, but had to post this one because Silverland Bakery was terrible. Maybe it was great 10 years ago? Or maybe the positive reviews are fake?

I should have turned right around when I saw the pest control van parked outside. But I walked in. I should have left when I saw there was nobody in the shop. But I waited. I should have stuck with just purchasing the day old treat my kid picked out when the cashier finally loped out of the back and demanded "Is that it?" But I didn't. I purchased several double chocolate keto brownies at $3 a piece. I came home and unwrapped not a freshly made, soft brownie, but a cold, frozen brownie. Ok, maybe there isn't enough demand for keto... frozen is fine. But wait, it's not just frozen. Look, it's a FREEZER BURNED keto brownie. Still, I persevered and took a bite. Chalky, freezer burned, and the bakers had done nothing to mask the overwhelming taste of erythritol. Double chocolate? It didn't even taste like any cocoa powder had made it into the mixer.

I usually give businesses a second chance, particularly local shops, but I see zero reason to go back to Silverland. Such a waste of time, money and...

We will visit my friend and we stop the car to buy some brownies for them. I'm the only one who enters this place since my wife is carrying my son who is asleep. There are few people inside so I wait for a few minutes for my turn. I can't choose what to buy because they have many kinds and flavors of their brownies.
