Just moved to forest park 2 weeks ago and was delighted to find out that there was a taco restaurant right down the street from me! Only to be disappointed by the actual food. I was really looking forward to this place being my new go to taco place… I took my family there yesterday afternoon and was pleased with the service and the ambiance. Everything was going good until I took a bite out of my taco. I ordered two steak tacos and an horchata. Very simple order and probably the most common at most taquerias. The steak was wayyyy too salty, the meat had no juice was completely dry and had almost a tacky sticky texture to it which I’ve been told means that the meat isn’t fresh. I don’t want this place to close down like they did in lions IL. I want this place to succeed, but if they want to succeed they need to really get out there and try all the hottest tacos in the area and learn something from them. Use fresher meat, less salt, and don’t overbook it.. if the beef is quality, you don’t need much to spruce it up… maybe a little paprika and a bit of salt is all… let the juice do the rest. Anyway I couldn’t even finish 1 taco! Please guys I want to keep going there but not until you fix these very very important mistakes! LETS GET BACK...
Read moreThis cantina is not your typical Mexican eatery, at least based on my experience SO FAR. The flavors of my taco salad were mild and creamy, delicious layers of refritos, rice, tender chicken, salad, and topped with a fresh guacamole and sour cream in a freshly fried tortilla bowl. I will be back to taste the steak tacos, burritos, and enchiladas on the menu! To drink, I had a generous mug of a wonderful non-alcoholic "cucumber limeade". I have seen this place hopping almost every time I drive by, but I was there early Sunday afternoon and it was a chill atmosphere (with a steady stream of take-out customers. ) You order and pay at the counter as you enter before you sit down, but the experience was like a restaurant after that, with chips and sauces, an attentive waitress, etc. I rather liked being able to just go when I finished without waiting for a bill and payment. Try this place if you want to try something a little different in...
Read moreThey offer the best customer service and solutions when there’s an issue with your order. I love the food! Such friendly staff and you can tell they care about their customers. Best food as well! ❤️❤️ definitely recommended to everyone I know!! 💕
I have to say. The review I held above was when it was great. The new cook has NO EXPERIENCE with seasoning. The meat is dry, unseasoned, and disgusting. ALWAYSSSS SO MUCH OIL. Like my bags come drenched in oil and dripping from the plastic bag. They never listen to what you’re ordering either. I specifically can ask for no onions and I open my tacos and there is more onions than meat!!! No only that but it’s gotten super expensive and I would steer away from here. Like FORREAL. Go to this other one close by. Either Milagros in riverside mall or this one they have one on Harlem Ave. Not lalos but there’s a small one with a drive thru. Those...
