This place has such a tight grip on me. The food is literally irresistible. No really, I've been going to this place since I was a little girl. Saturday Poke days are my absolute favorite. I've tried many Poke bowls all over Utah and I can say with 100% certainty that Sweets has the best and cleanest tasting Poke Bowl in all of UT and SL County. Their meat is never dry, the sauces are always delicious, and they always use the freshest ingredients. Plus their desserts like Pani Popo and guava cake are to die for.
It is a family-run business and they are quite possibly the sweetest people you will ever meet. They remember each and every single one of their customers and actually go out of their way to get to know you. If you ever get the pleasure to meet Sweet (the lady herself) I guarantee it will be a memorable experience.
If you have been trying to get their food and arrive when most of it is gone, then the best advice I can give anyone is if you want to try their food, show up right when they open. Because they can sometimes run out of most of their dishes by the time it's 1pm.
I literally cannot say enough good things about this place. I am craving sweets just writing this review. Just go try it. I promise you...
Read moreWe bought 3 different dishes with a total of 8 different food items. It was pretty good, but the quality of the dishes was very hit-or-miss. For instance, the quality of the Mahi-mahi was great, the beef was great, and the sausage was great, but the chicken was not good (fatty and full of veins and knuckles). They recently changed their menu, so the items available on their web sites were not correct. When I ordered on the phone, they had to call me back twice before I could place an accurate order (having been forced to change my order 3 times), and although there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant when I arrived, it took twice as long to prepare the meal as they told me it would. Once the meal was ready, I was asked to then pay more than the cost of my order so that the owners wouldn't incur an extra credit card transaction fee.
So overall, the food was good, but their new menu is pretty disappointing, they complained to me about their credit card arrangements, and their preparation time was twice what they told me it would be. I wanted this to be the best food Island cuisine in Provo, but it wasn't. There are better options...
Read moreStopped here after my son's echo at the hospital nearby. Walked in and was immediately greeted by all the staff up front. The lady serving the food gave us both a rundown of what was what. She was very friendly and talked to us as we chose our lunches. I got the chicken and pig combo with noodles and macaroni salad. My son got teriyaki chicken with noodles, rice and sweet pineapple. The food was awesome. The chicken was tender and perfect. The pig.....all i can say is oh my gosh! At first i was like oh it looks plain....but the flavor requires nothing else! So tender and flavorful! I didn't need anything, not even salt or pepper on my food.....not even the macaroni salad. I tried my son's rice and it was perfect. And the sweet pineapple was so delicious! My son who can be picky about flavor grabbed siracha sauce and ended up not even using it. He inhaled his food and made me promise to take him back next time we go. Lovely simple friendly atmosphere. If you haven't tried this place you...
