I normally don’t write reviews unless the location has an extreme impact on my experience and unfortunately mine was not a great one. We were really looking forward to finding a delicious sushi spot and we came across this location. As we arrived, it looked pretty packed in there but we actually got seated within 10-15 minutes. The hostess was very kind and I had no complaints there. Our waitress came and got our drink order, brought out our drinks. It took a while for her to come back and take our food order but we were patient as it was pretty busy. Our experience began to go downhill when they took FOREVER to bring out the miso soup and salad. I’m a very observant person and noticed that multiple tables around me were being brought their food way before us even though we had arrived, been seated, and ordered our food long before they did. I watched our sushi sit at the top while the sushi chef continuously shouted our table number was ready but our waitress was no where to be found. I was very tempted to get up and just grab it myself but talked myself out of it and waited. We waited and waited and waited, not even our appetizers had came out (gyozas and shrimp tempura). My husband and I both noticed that the other waitress kept taking dishes and appetizers to other tables but our waitress was still not around. She would not even come by to check on us or give us an update. Eventually our appetizers made their way to the table but it was maybe 1-2 minutes before our sushi arrived. We were under the impression that the appetizers were not put in and our waitress just waited to bring the sushi out until we got those appetizers. The appetizers were very fresh and hot. The shrimp tempura tasted delicious but was a little too greasy for my liking. The gyozas were a 2/5. They honestly tasted like frozen store bought gyozas. My husband and I got 4 sushi rolls total and all 4 were 1/5. Spicy crab was extremely dry and so was one of the deep fried rolls, it was over fried or had been sitting too long because it was hard. The other rolls were kinda warm too. I could’ve gotten better rolls at the commissary in a military installation. I got my son a bento beef box and that also took forever to come out only to find the beef was semi cold. Aside from that the taste of the beef was really good, edamame was decent too. We saw the restaurant slowly empty out and we patiently waited for our waitress to come check on us and close out, but again. . . Nowhere to be found. Eventually she came out of the kitchen and my husband was trying to get her attention but she made eye contact and kept walking until my husband waved her down. She finally came over and brought us a box and our check as requested. Her attitude was not an issue, she was very friendly but her customer service and attentiveness was horrible. We waited almost 1 hr for our food to be put on our table while watching it sit for 30 minutes. Normally I am okay waiting if a place is extremely busy but the issue was mainly our waitress being gone and providing a service that if we base it on tips was maybe worth about $3 and not $15-$20. This place has potential but they need to sharpen their sushi menu and retrain some of the staff on...
Read moreI used to eat here at least 1 to 2 times a week but the quality of service went down a bit and prices went up. But I came in tonight and as I was eating alone I sat at the bar and ordered a sea weed salad since it didn't look like I would be getting my main order any time soon since all the waitresses were busy chatting it up with the party of one of an off duty waitress that had come in before me. And it seemed that my waitress was too busy pulling up her pant leg to show off the bruise on her knee to everyone. As I sat there waiting for my salad I noticed the table top was greasy so I moved down a seat, there I found a large piece of fried food stuck to the table so I moved to another seat. I finally got my order of 3 rolls and immediately could smell a very strong odor of fish, I quietly pointed it out to the chef and asked if he could identify which fish was CLEARLY off and simply remake that part. He responded with "we haven't had any complaints about our fish today and it smells fine to me". At that point another waitress (not mine) came up and asked whats going on. I then quietly stated that the fish was clearly spoiled to which she responded again "well we haven't had any complaints about our fish today" and then (her Exact words) "and frankly every time you come in here you have something to complain about".
Granted the last time I went in I did find a large dead fruit fly in my wasabi which was verified by the chef whom had just handed me the wasabi and I was eating right in front of. At that time I simply pointed it out to him and he verified it was a fly in the wasabi, he apologized and offered to take off part of my meal on my check. And at the end of my meal I noticed that the girl had only taken off the least expensive roll and so I asked if they would take off the drink as well, the chef said yes no problem and the waitress said she felt the one roll off was enough compensation. Now I never made a big deal out of that instance because stuff like that happens, but for this rude little girl to tell me I always have something to complain about when she isn't even my waitress or a manager or anything is unacceptable! So after being called a lier by this rude staff saying I'm making up the disgusting smell of the fish that's obviously spoiled and then being insulted by this waitress saying I "ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT" I politely said "ok than, I'll pay for my salad and leave" to which she responded very cheerfully "Ok Great!". And while paying I asked if Mr Park the owner was in I was simply told "Nope!" And so I walked out while my waitress giggled.
I'm not one to leave bad reviews for anyone but this was ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR from beginning to end and though the seaweed salad was good the sushi this time was disgusting! And the wait staff was INSULTING AND RUDE! I literally will not return here again except for when I come in to speak to the owner when he...
Read moreI've been here 3 times and originally loved it; to make it better they're right down the road from us. The 2nd time we went we brought my father in law for the lunch special. The quality of food went way down when we got it for the lunch special price. I didn't like that but found it understandable because of the big price difference. Last night the day of snowing caused us to forget my birthday plans and pick a place to eat that is close to home. I got the beef Yaki Udon and my husband got chicken Yaki Udon. While we were looking at the menus we noticed they were sticky and dirty. Looking over at the sushi bar you see what appears to be years of dust hanging from the cool looking wooden decoration hanging from the ceiling and the cloth flap going into the kitchen has brown around the edges from being opened and closed. Honestly I didn't care to much about these warning signs but now I regret not leaving when we noticed this. About 5 hours after I ate I got deep stomach cramps; the type hat make you feel like your stomach will literally pop from gas but there was no gas. 7 hours after finishing the meal my body purged itself of the bad food. I know for a fact it was the beef in the Yaki Udon that made me sick. It was undigested and I tasted it as it came out. I have a stomach of steel and haven't had poisoning since I was a child. Luckily once my body cleared it I was fine but if it was someone with a weaker stomach I don't think that would have been the case. Good food, good prices, quick service but I won't...
