We drove all the way from Texas and got in real late the night we checked in. The next morning we went to a funeral. As soon as we got back from the funeral we decided to stand on the side of the hotel and smoke a marijuana cigarette which is legal in the state of CO. The front desk person, Wayne, waited until we went back to our room and he came and started banging on our door like something was really wrong. We didn’t understand why he was banging on our door like there was a fire. When my husband opened the door he started yelling in his face that we violated some code by smoking in the room. My husband told him we didn’t smoke in the room and that we smoked on the side of the building and he called us liars. He said he could smell it. My husband said you can smell it on me because I just came in from smoking. He then told us we had to leave immediately and he was charging us a $250 fine. He ran off after yelling that we needed to go immediately. I then went to the front to get a cart and spoke up and told Wayne to calm down. That we just came from a funeral and that we didn’t smoke in his room and he still didn’t care what I had to say. There was no compassion that I had to just comfort my best friend who just buried her mom. No compassion what so ever. He was so rude and belligerent. The other front desk employee was so scared just standing there. I felt sorry for him. We packed up our room and left it spotless and smoke free and when we were leaving my husband asked Wayne for a receipt and then for his name and that was when he really got mad. He thought he could treat us any kind of way for smoking outside in a city where it was legal. He told my husband that he signed something when we got there saying we couldn’t smoke on the property anywhere. As I mentioned earlier we got in late the night before after driving all day from Dallas and no one explained that to me. I signed the paperwork not my husband. I think Wayne was racist and was mad I was white and my husband was black. After I told him we just left a funeral he had no compassion. He was the rudest person I have ever met. I am a VP of Marketing for the company I work for and I can tell you without a doubt that Wayne is destroying your brand. I will NEVER stay at one of your hotels again because of Wayne. He even charged us for that night too when he kicked us out at 3pm. So we paid over $550 to stay 16 hours at your place. That is unacceptable and egregious. Ohhh and when my husband stood up for what was wrong he then threatened to call the cops on him. My husband said why? Because I was smoking outside in a city where it was legal? No he threatened to call the cops because my husband was black.
So if you guys think it’s ok to treat your customers the way Wayne did, by overcharging us, kicking us out for no reason and then threatening to call the cops on my husband then continue doing what you do. But you don’t have to worry about my business or me recommending anyone ever again.
Oh and there was a witness. The other gentleman at the front desk who Looked so scared to be working with Wayne. He is probably too scared to say anything because he is black too and probably will lose his job since Wayne is white. White Wayne thinks he can treat anyone any type of way and get away with it but God sees all. So if you don’t do anything about Wayne, God will. (Vengeance is mine says the Lord)

From the very beginning I was met with hostility and aggression from who I would later find out is actually SOMEHOW a manager. Must know people, probably family. You can actually detect this rudeness and unprofessionalism in the replies to customer complaints below.
I called to confirm a reservation I made online because my card had not been charged as agreed on their website after 48 hours. I was met with a VERY rude woman named Samantha who literally tried to make everything difficult. She demanded I give all of my sensitive personal information and treated me like I had done something wrong or had created some actual work for her to do. After 4 separate phone calls, all met with complete unprofessionalism by Samantha. This woman lacks any and all communication skills on a professional level of any kind. RUDE.
When we arrived at the hotel we walked into the lobby where loud voices were shouting in a very hostile manner from the person working. I was glad that I had gone through the trouble of confirming my payments and reservations as from what I could overhear a customer had been charged multiple times and incorrectly. The way this lady was just demeaning and enjoyed playing her feeble position of power in life. She was entirely rude to the couple that was being more than patient in explaining their side. She would speak over them and raise her voice in an aggressive manner. Once I was next I walked up to notice the name tag was indeed the Samantha I had spoken to before.
We asked the staff to watch over our vehicles overnight with concerns for the area. I wrote down my vehicle descriptions and woke up the next morning to find that our trailer and motorcycles were stolen from the parking lot. We intentionally parked in front of a camera which ended up being filmed with a potato. Unclear worthless footage of the incident. Again, I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Samantha who revealed they had never even written our vehicle down in the guest vehicle log...Very suspicious.
After I asked kindly if I could simply take a look at the footage, I was met with being screamed at and was told "NO AND YOU WONT GET IT EITHER YOU CAN TALK TO THE COPS". Very empathetic of a guest who just had 50k in belongings stolen from their lot after they said they would "keep an eye on it all night".
I believe that there are employees who are scouting the lots for potential victims and making the phone calls to theft rings in this area. I sincerely hope that choice hotels does an internal investigation into this matter on a human resource level because I believe ownership may also be involved locally.
If you value anything you have travelled with DO NOT STAY HERE. Broken glass on the ground everywhere, Razor blades, needles. Homeless people living in the abandoned car wash across the street. This place is AWEFUL.

Read moreFor the good: The staff member at the front desk was very personable, upbeat, caring, and appeared to be mindful of COVID risks. The parking was well-lit with security cameras (location is a bit odd behind some auto shops, etc or this wouldn’t be an issue). The TV worked, the shower worked, and the bed was fairly comfortable.
For the bad: The condition of our room was terrible (see photos). When we entered we found the carpet was covered with big red sticky stains, the linens had dark soiled spots on them, surfaces were greasy or covered with sediment, toilet seat was covered in dark sticky marks/stains, and the remote control was covered in finger nail polish. At this point we requested to change rooms, but were told they were booked up (we would have left but other hotels were booked as well). The only option we saw was to request fresh linens (to change ourselves) and at least a discount. The staff member apologized profusely, assumed the stains were from a punch they used to serve, and told me she would work on a discount and follow up with me (I still have not heard back). When we returned to the room and further inspected we found more dirt, sediment, and stains on the bathroom walls/ceiling, next to the refrigerator, on the curtains, the chair and just about everywhere else in the room. We also noticed small particles of what looked like dried food/vomit in the red stains in the floor, behind the bathroom faucet, and on the lamp. The note the housekeeper left with their name was dirty/crinkled and appeared to have been reused a few times. The next morning it became clear a previous guest had partied a bit too hard and left a mess which wasn’t entirely cleaned up. The broken coffee machine which leaked water all over while producing a quarter cup of coffee just before we left was the icing on the cake.
I hate leaving negative reviews, and having worked in the service industry, I understand sometimes things just don’t go right (particular when things are busy/booked up). However, that room should never be booked for any guest (paying or not) until it receives a deep clean. I can’t speak for all the rooms, but do not stay...
