It's been about five years since this adventurous little shack started offering fun light food. Over it's existence I can only say it has grown with taste. Today they have a fenced in lot that looks very professional as well a rounded menu, offering up unique tastes that highlight Pueblo with ingredients of Green Chile and Grinder Patties. Vegetarian option galore! One of the few place that have more vegetables than you have fingers. Eggplant? They have it. Alfalfa Sprout? Yup. Kalamata Olives? You bet they are in that salad.
Like I said before they are light food options. Perfect for people conscious of a diet and exercise. Prices range from about $7 to $9. With a kids menu and the most basic salad hoving around $5.
Space is tight inside. With only two 4 tops and a bar with individual seats for 8 people. But come after the rush you will easily find space to enjoy your sandwich. Otherwise there is an abundance of outdoor tables with 6 available!
There is a lack of public bathroom, you have to ask about a bathroom and there is an exterior restroom around back that may or may not be open. And, there is a drive through option! As far as other comments go... it is refeshingly simple. No TV blared in the background, just large open windows and a ceiling fan pushing a cool breeze in the...
Read moreGreat food, could-be-better service. They are only doing drive through and takeout, which was a little disappointing as we were looking forward to eating there. They have lots of options. So took us a while, but we finally ordered the Monte Cristo and the Cuban. We also ordered chocolate chip cookies when the lady at the window said that she had just baked it. She was also very sweet. So far so good, right?
Well, on our way home, I dug into the bag and realised there were no cookies. My friend called the restaurant back and the same lady apologized profusely saying that she forgot, but that she hadn't added it to the bill any way, so it was ok. Now my friend was pretty sure she HAD paid for the cookies but didn't want to argue much. So we just put it down as our loss. A few minutes later we got a call from the owner saying that the lady had been wrong, and we had, in fact, paid for the cookies. It was too late to go back by then, so he did finally deduct the cost of the cookies. Why do I harp on this so much? Your food is good, so adding in excellent service, will be even better.
Any way, onto the cookie-less food - my friend RAVED about the Cuban. My Monte Cristo was good but a little soggy by the time I got to it.
I would like to give these guys another chance and see...
Read moreThis is a little gem of a place. I had the Chile Philly, which is a twist on a classic Philly Cheese Steak. Tender, well seasoned, and thinly sliced roast beef with provolone cheese. There's a nice chipotle mayo and your choice of chiles - mild or hot. While I generally like my food spicy, I went the milder route to make sure I tasted all the flavors. I am glad I did. I love a good traditional Philly, but this is a great variation. Lots of flavor from the mayo, and the heat was just right. If I had one tiny complaint it would be there wasn't enough of the chile strips. The hoagie roll held up to the ingredients and didn't fall apart.
The sandwich came out quickly and was nice and hot. Charming help behind the counter didn't hurt the experience. The dining room is small, but there is good seating outside when the weather is nice.
Value - at over $16 for a medium sandwich, soda and chips, (Not including tip) it's not cheap. But quality is not cheap, so it's just the way of the world in 2025. I will...
