Found this little gem this morning on our way back home to Texas. We were craving breakfast burritos and a quick Google search of the area showed that this place was only 9 min. away so after reading some good reviews, we decided to give it a try. Best decision of the day, I'm sure. We were greeted immediately upon walking in the door by a friendly man at the counter. He helped us with our order, and within maybe 10 min, we were on our way out with a bag of everything we needed to enjoy our meal 😁 My husband & I both ordered one. We had crispy bacon, egg that was more of a hard fried than a scramble (nice change, it works!) a generous amount of shredded cheese & potato that was actually French fries. I really enjoyed the difference that the French fries made over regular cubed potatoes. (that are typically undercooked) I loved this different take on breakfast burritos than what we get in our area. We were given a red and a green sauce. I tasted both but decided on the green as it was mild in heat compared to the red, though they were both yummy. My husband, who loves spicy, chose the red. They were cooked perfectly, and the ratio of each ingredient was spot on. Even the grilled tortilla itself was delicious and held up well even though it was stuffed full! These things were HUGE, we could have easily shared one. This is not a place that you would just pass by and be like, oh, that place looks great I have to try it out...Nope, not at all. However, don't let that scare you away if you want delicious, fresh food and fast, friendly service. This is definitely your place. If I lived around the area, I would frequent them often 100%. Give them a try. Your taste buds...
Read moreI really don't like giving bad reviews, but when it comes to Mexican food, I think I know what I'm talking about. I lived in Mexico for 8 years, and love authentic street tacos. Not the tex-mex orange and yellow shredded cheese and hamburger meat tacos, but the real tacos made for and by Mexicans. I went to here with my family expecting this because of the reviews but was sadly disappointed.
The guacamole seemed to be some type of green cream with little or no flavor. The texture did not seem like it came from avocados. The green enchiladas did not even have a green sauce. It was more of a brownish, off white glaze that almost blended in with the color of the refried beans. It was relatively tasteless and did not reflect true Mexican enchiladas with green sauce made from tomatillos.
On the other hand, this place has over four stars average. Maybe it's standard for Pueblo Colorado, or maybe it was an off day. Either way, I can't recommend this place for real...
Read moreVasquez Taco Shop is a great local place to grab lunch or dinner. Easy access located right on the corner I found ample parking right up front also additional parking on the side. The staff here were very friendly and helpful providing the great menu selection of fresh tacos, burritos and combination plates. I had combo plate number 8 which was two asada tacos loaded with pico de gallo and guacamole. Display also included a very generous portion of Spanish rice and refried beans. The food was made to order and very fresh. The price and speedy service was great here also. Don't hesitate to stop in at...
