Be warned. We booked a 3 night stay. We checked in and were charged for all 3 nights. Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. On Saturday morning, I got an alert thru their Marriott Bonvoy app stating I needed to check in for my new reservation. Spoke to the front desk and they said that anyone staying over Sunday had to have a new reservation because the hotel was getting a new credit card processing system. So we had a 2 night stay and then a 1 night stay. We asked how it worked since we already paid. Desk clerk said that we might be charged a whole stay again Monday morning when we check out because our initial payment would be refunded. We said that couldn't work due to funds in the available account and how long things would take to get refunded. The way this would work is that I would be charged twice, for $400+. Then have to wait for a refund of $400+ which takes 7 to 14 business days. We asked to speak to a manager to better explain this and were assured we would not be charged anything else until checkout Monday and could speak to the manager on duty before then. Monday morning I woke up to a notification of fraud from my bank due to being charged for 1 night at $130 at midnight. So we have now paid for basically 4 nights. Front desk didn't know how to help, but the general manager was there. After an hour on the phone with my bank to make sure refunded funds were released, it was handled mostly. But his only words were sorry for the inconvenience. Do they not realize how bad it was? To wake up and see a secondary charge that drained your account? That my bank viewed it as fraud and locked my card when I was 1000 miles from home with no way to get back now? We were not the only ones. Several people were calling while I was downstairs dealing with this because we kept hearing the other girl behind the desk explaining it was a system error with their credit card system that double charged and to contact your bank to see about a refund. It wasn't anyone's banks faults. The hotel screwed up and double charged. While my bank said the funds for one charge had been reversed and released, it still has yet to show in my account. A phone call to my bank verified it will take 7 to 14 days to get back. Luckily, the let me keep my card on and we were able to get home on emergency cash, but it was a disaster. On top of all this, it seems they have issues with their hot water, as it would be ice cold then all of a sudden burn you for 2 minutes then go back to being ice cold. Unless you showered at 1am. Then it was luke warm for the entire shower. Also, please check the bed and linens to make sure they are clean. We found giant hairballs inside our pillowcases, of black hair so clearly visible thru the white case. The sheets had a very odd perfume scent to them, and when we lifted them up to check for anything else, we found their luxurious mattress pad they brag about was not even the right size for the bed, as it wouldn't even fit across it. Looked more like a twin size stretched on a king. And it was a very off-putting shade of tan, that you can tell was just old and stained. Oh and don't forget that you have to special request a bathtub, as I got rudely informed of upon checkin. We had the roll in wheelchair shower or so we thought. We asked to be moved to a regular room with a tub, as I have a bad knee and need to soak it in ice almost nightly. Well they moved us to what they called an accessible room, that came with a tub, a shower chair, huge bathroom and tiny bedroom. The closet door had a busted mirror, cracked in the corner and the bathroom door would close all the way. Upon leaving to go see if we could just stay I the first room, we found that the outside door didn't lock. Horrible experience, and really wish we had stayed across the street, as it was a Marriottas well.. This Courtyard by Marriot let us down tremendously, and we usually love our stays at...
Read moreLet’s start with parking. Parking is ri-damn-diculous! There is not enough on a Tuesday night, so the weekends must be a damn joke! Then to make up for the parking they give you parking across the street in a parking lot that has zero security. Of course they make sure the parking pass clearly states they will not be responsible for lost or damaged property. This seems to be a pretty sketchy town. Your best hope is to park under a light as the the homeless problem is out of control and please don’t let the females in your party walk out there alone after dark. It’s just way too dangerous. I wish some guidance and advice was given during checkin. What pissed me off the most is they have a huge yellow/loading zone and they let any rich contractors park there all night without fearing getting towed, WTAF! Why is that okay with them, because maybe they’ll come back again if their contract allows. They’re entitled jackasses for doing it, Marriotts horrible for allowing, while single women, traveling alone have to brave walking around these sketchy streets alone. Get some security, don’t let anyone park in the yellow loading zone.||Next, the room. We were exhausted and worried about the safety of our car. I went in to take a shower. First the water pressure could almost remove skin, just giving you that heads up. It hits you with freezing then slight adjustment to the red side and it’s scolding you, just another heads up. But my favorite was in the middle of my shower I find there is no shampoo. There is two bottles of body wash and one of conditioner. WTAF?!? How hard is it to switch out the bottles.||Next what is with the ghosting TV?!? I thought Colorado cared about the environment, so why can’t we turn off the TV?!? We had to unplug it to get it to be off.||Cleanliness…well it seems clean at first, but when drawing the drapes you find surprises like we did. Something squished and bloody, not sure if it’s a bug or people blood. Hope you don’t find any surprises.||The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The hallway was loud. As was the entitled Harley parking on the sidewalk next to the front door. The place is not the right place to relax and rejuvenate.||Truly expected better...
Read moreI want to start out by saying that everyone we met at this hotel was wonderful. Friendly, cheerful & efficient. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet the standards that their staff set. We were assigned to a "suite" room, where the bedroom was separated from the rest of the area by a door. Unfortunately, the living area was unusable. It had no HVAC & was very hot. There was a box fan that we were apparently supposed to use to pull cool air from the bedroom into the living area, but you can guess how well that worked. There was also a large wall unit that would bring in air from the bedroom, but it was incredibly noisy, so we couldn't use that if we intended to be in the room. In addition, it was very dark. There were a couple of lamps, but they had those old yellow cfl bulbs, so didn't do much to light the room at all. The bedroom itself was fine, although the bed was very soft (maybe just very old?). The room was poorly cared-for. Even in the dim light, we could see the chipped furniture. There was a used pod in the Keurig, hair in the bathroom, and a dirty shower. The shared shampoo & such in the shower were up so high that they were difficult to reach (I'm 5'6") & the hot water temp was set to scalding. That's easy to adjust, of course, but could be a problem if children or people with neuropathy were trying to use it. The toilet ran off & on all night. In contrast, the indoor pool & fitness center were both fairly big/attractive. The fitness center had the usual cardio stuff & the ubiquitous hand weights, but no rowing machine & only a physical therapy-type bike, no spin-type bike. You'll want to avoid the food at the coffee area (we didn't try the restaurant, so can't speak to that). The pleasant woman working back there did all she could, but there's not a lot of joy to be had in stale items, even when they've been microwaved. |In summary, I'd avoid this place until it lists that it's had a major renovation. There are lots of hotels downtown Pueblo & I'm guessing that at least some of them are...
