we cannot say enough AWESOME THINGS ABOUT THIS FOOD!!!!!! we missed our old pub in tulsa since moving to NM, so wanted to try it...SOSOSO GLAD we did! it also helped they are DOG FRIENDLY AND HAVE SOME SIDEWALK TABLES, as it was a PERFECT colorado day to eat outside!
anyway, the minute u drive dn their street the best cooking aromas hit you and just pull you in! i am going to say, i bet it is all great, but the one thing that tells a good irish pub from another is a rueben...so we both ordered the rueben club, with bacon and turkey as well as the best, tenderest, home cooked corned beef i've had in forever...the marble rye tastes home baked and no thousand island here - they hv this great aioli that just sets it all off! their light beer is great, too, and i am not usually a craft beer type. fried potatoes came with it and, for some reason, struck me as just a notch above other plain old fried potatoes...perfectly krispy on the outside and soft on the inside...
so, if you want traditional irish cooking, GO HERE!!! i'm going to crave it til we get back up to pueblo - and my husband and i hv made a pact to get two new different menu items ea time so we can try it ALL...i esp want to do brunch so i can try the irish biscuits and gravy with scotch eggs♥️♥️♥️♥️
our waitress was a sweetheart, btw, and their prices are very reasonable (portions are very good sized and they do NOT skimp on the meat like everyone else has been doing nowadays...i HATE seeing plate - fill up all the empty real estate with potatoes if u hv to - and they do!)
THANK SO MUCH YA'LL!!! can't wait to come...
Read moreA large group of us were in town for training and stopped for dinner on a Monday because we had been here several times before and had a very positive experiences. We made reservations that night for 15 for Wednesday night and we're assured by the manager on duty (tall gray haired male) who assured us that he would have adequate staff to handle our group. We even called at 5:30 on Wednesday to confirm the reservation and acknowledge we would be there with 15 people. We showed up promptly at 7:00 and we're escorted to the outside patio. Nothing was set up and a young man was assigned to the entire outside patio. The heater was on (it was 91F since it was end of June) and when we requested it be turned off, it never happened. When I asked the server where all the other servers were, he said no one wants to work the patio because it was too hot out and he was the only server assigned to the patio. He did a great job trying to keep up but obviously the patio was under staffed. Drinks were slow and the food came out at different times. Some of our group were finished before the other food came out. Members of our group were ready to leave and were very frustrated. I went and spoke to the manager on duty and she was very nice but obviously wasn't prepared nor notified our group was coming. I blame the "manager" on duty Monday night who obviously didn't plan for our reservation. Too bad that 15 firefighters now how have a bad taste for your establishment that I raved about to everyone we send out here...
Read moreWhile living in Pueblo this became our go-to place. The beer is amazingly good and we aren't even beer drinkers, however we found ourselves filling a growler at least twice a week with their "Golden" brew.
The scotch eggs are quite the delicacy as well, I like the Aioli beer mustard they are served with. Once time we ordered them around 11:30 PM and they came badly burned, I told the waitress who agreed they were way too dark. She went back and within a couple minutes had a fresh plate of them, however these new ones were a bit undercooked and still cold in the middle.
There was one occasion where we were at a booth and a booth with some employees on break behind us was quite loud and wild, with every other word being a loud scream of the f-word. I am no prude, but after an hour of constant F#@ F#@ it will get on anyones nerves.
Other than that we have been there well over a dozen times and the food is amazing! Not the least expensive place around but you do get what you pay for. I have been to Ireland for a few weeks at a time and this place really reminds me of a spot in Dublin. Similar food even, true Irish style in my experience.
Oh and the bread pudding is AMAZING, if you like bread pudding at all you owe it to yourself to check theirs out.
