The young woman at the check in desk provided the worst customer service I have seen in a while. She slapped down the form I needed to sign for the 2 rooms and tossed (almost threw) the pen down on the counter. We later asked about directions. After a bit of time she begrudingly gave us a map which didn't even show what we were asking about. She didn't direct us to the elevator and we had to ask some passing guests where it was. She never smiled or welcomed us to the hotel.
After my colleague got to her room and had unpacked she discovered that the toilet would not flush. She called down to the desk. The clerk's response included the following: "Did you clog it up?" "What do you want me to do about it?" "Well, I guess you could move to another room." My colleague had already unpacked everything for a 5 night stay and didn't want to have to pack everything back up. The clerk said " Well, there's a maintenance man on call. I guess I could call him. Is that what you want?" My colleague said to call the maintenance man. Later, we came downstairs to go out to dinner. We stopped by the desk to make sure the toilet would get fixed. She told us that she had called him. When we got back to the room later it had been fixed. This clerk did not do her job of taking care of a hotel guest. She didn't seem to know what to do and/or didn't want to have to go to the trouble of working.
One evening we were at the bar. Some quests came in and there was no one at the desk to check them in. After a while, the guest called over to the bartender to ask if there was anyone around to help. He told the guest that the clerk was somewhere else helping someone and that when he was done he would be back to help. It seemed like a long time before that guest got checked in. He was pretty irritated and I can't say I blame him. Later the male bartender and male clerk were talking about the guest as if he was some kind of blowhard and didn't seem to care that he had to wait a while to be served. The check in desk is not managed well. There were frequent times in which no one was around.
When we checked out there was no one at the desk. I walked around and put our key cards on the counter near the computer, hoping that doing that would suffice for checking out and that I wouldn't find an...
Read moreWow, this was an awful stay. As a long time member I have always seen fantastic service and had nothing but raving reviews for the Marriott hotels we stayed in. This was a nightmare. My wife and I showed up early and had requested an early check in days before, but the customer service gent at the front desk (Eric) said they were completely booked and couldn't accommodate our early check in. There was no way this was true, the hotel has four floors and the parking lot was almost empty. We ended up sitting in the parking lot for a few hours in 99 degree heat with a crying 3 month old baby because the lobby was loud. We came in about an hour later to try and cool off and I asked Eric again if he had anything, he didn't even try to ask a maid if any rooms were ready, just stared back at me with a blank face an said "no". It took them 3+ hours to get a room ready, we were the only ones checking in. Once we were finally in our room we were hit with a foul smell and disgusting carpet. The toilet seat was about to fall off, they reused the toilet paper roll from the last stay and the bed was not clean (We have photos of all this, unfortunately you can't document smell.) The small refrigerator in the room was broken and hummed like a off tune jr. high Acapella singer all night. We were exhausted and wanted to swim and sit in the hot tub but those had hair and gross things floating in them. The hot tub was green and looked like a pond. The lounge area chairs were ripped and while we were waiting outside we saw homeless folks using the back patio of the hotel for their personal use, how is that safe? Anyway, we slept that night and got up to check out. we were greeted with elevators filled with pot smoke. Again, we have a 3 month old and had to wait for the elevators to clear. Again, Eric the front desk person was rude and when I tried to tell him about the situation he blew me off and answered the phone whole walking away. I mean, for a 3 star hotel that we used our points for, we would hope for a little respect and service. One of the worst hotel experiences I have had, and I stayed in a hotel in Memphis where prostitutes were turning tricks outside our door,...
Read moreThe hotel itself is nice. The employees are nice. Only issues we had they lied about compensation for not have power for part of our stay. They are a fire Hazzard waiting to happen. They had people walking up pitch black stairs because not one of the emergency lights in them worked. When you have a 72 year old man with you that has to walk up several flights of stairs with nothing but our cell phone flashlights. That's very unsafe. They promised to make some kind of compensation considering we had to leave for several hours instead of resting like we paid to Do. When your paying 300.00 a room per night I expect to be able to relax comfortably. I nor our other party that was with us shouldn't have had to go somewhere else to try to find a spot to chill out after a long drive from Dallas tx. The night manager promised we would be compensated for the very big issue of hours without power not to mention very unsafe conditions we had to endure. When I asked about it a different manager left me a voicemail saying they wouldn't be offering any compensation. Due to it not being thier fault! Well last time I checked the backup generator at your hotel should be functional. Last time I checked all hallways and stairwells are by law supposed to have emergency lighting! Not one hall way or staircase had a single working emergency light that actually worked. The management is very shady not to mention will lie to your face then hide behind voicemail. I'll definitely be contacting the local inspector along with corporate. I would expect this type of issues with a motel 6 or super 8 but not here. Don't waste your money here!
