If I can give them zero stars I would ,I been going the for almost 2 years the food is great they used to have great staff but I am very desipointed on the approach with making a mistake to put peanuts on my food I understand that maitakes happens and we are only humans! but what makes me more desapointed is that they didn't take me seriously they took the plate to the kitchen and just removed the nuts from it I'm sorry but if I would ask the server how they did the dish so fast I would of end up in the hospital or probably die I had to ask for a new plate and offer to pay for it in order for me to be able to eat and it doesn't stop the the second plate did not have all the ingredients so it was incompleted , I told the server that some items where missing from my plate and she went back to the kitchen and came back and said sorry we are closing soon and they didn't forget to put it in your dish we just simply dont have it any more to serve but then I saw the same dish coming out for another customer and theirs was complete, anyway people if you have allergies dont go here the dont follow prodocall to propartly serve people who have allergies to nuts!! I will never come back again for being cheap and inconsiderate you lost a very loyal...
Read moreI can't eat at the Belgian Monk every time I'm in Punta Gorda. So I decided to go next door, to Pho Saigon. A big menu with appetizers, pho, vermicelli & rice dishes grouped separately. I like that. And a first for me: different sizes. I ordered the Pho Hai San, small, because I really wanted seafood. It come with shrimp (2), fish balls (not what your thinking), octopus, squid & supposedly scallops of which I didn't see any. I do wish the tails were removed from the shrimp so I dont have to dig around in my hot soup with bare fingers. A side plate had bean sprouts and a huge slice of jalapeño. Everybody in the pool! The broth was a bit blah but with Sriracha, fish sauce, soy sauce and hoisin on the table, doctoring it to taste is easy-peasy. The staff was friendly at noon on a Wednesday in season and speedy. I was eating 5 minutes after I sat down. The restaurant is very roomy with tons of space to navigate a wheelchair. One wall has booths, the rest of the seating is tables and chairs plus there is room at the bar for 5-6. A side note: the chopsticks are not the disposable kind (usually bamboo), they are reusable, washable plastic. A bit harder for me to grab with but not thrown out after the meal. I'll...
Read moreThis establishment is one that has great food. The menu is fairly short, which is great because it means that they really do the few items well that they offer. The service is usually a bit slow, as there’s generally only one server for the whole place but she is very sweet and always ready with a smile. The ambience is a little lacking as most of the time there are several tables that are covered in dirty dishes from guests that have already left. Make sure to get in early, as they close rather early!
Edit: if you’re having dinner there, I would make sure to:
#1. Call (a few times they’ve been closed when their hours on Google say they would be open) and ask if they’ll be open at the time when you plan on being there.
#2. Ask if they still have pho. I learned that lesson last time I went. I called to make sure they were open and would be 45 minutes later when I arrived. I was told yes. Then I arrived at the planned upon time and was told that they were out of pho. At the pho restaurant. Just to save yourself some time and frustration aannndddd gas, make sure to call about those...
